WGNinHR Consulting, LLC, a leading People Solutions provider, has been retained exclusively to find a Director of Talent Acquisition for LeagueApps. 

About LeagueApps

Born and bred in New York City, LeagueApps is the operating system and community for youth and local sports leaders—providing them with the technology and professional network they need to succeed. A fast-growing, venture-backed company, LeagueApp powers thousands of clubs, tournaments, leagues, camps, and facilities with a platform that reaches more than 10 million participants nationwide. Through its FundPlay program, LeagueApps provides financial support to programs serving athletes who would otherwise not get the chance to play. Their goal is to impact 500,000 underserved athletes by 2022. 

LeagueApps recently raised $15 million in a Series B round of funding from many notables in sports, among other arenas. A company on the move, LeagueApps is looking for team members who want to be part of building the greatest local sports company in the world. A few of their stats:

Reporting to the VP, People, the Director of Talent Acquisition will serve as an “Ace” player, building a high-performing team of recruiters, and continuously improving the end-to-end talent acquisition process in a rapidly scaling business.

About You

  • You share a passion for LeagueApps’ SPORTSDOG values; you’ve always been fueled by a deep desire to make a difference
  • You have a minimum of 15 years of recruiting experience in a SaaS environment 
  • You are an exceptional communicator; able to influence, motivate and recognize through words and actions
  • You’ve written the ‘script’ before for developing a talent acquisition strategy and team that is adept at identifying the best talent in a competitive market
  • You’re a natural collaborator and relationship-builder; you genuinely enjoy partnering with leaders to shape best-in-class hiring practices, processes and systems
  • You are a decisive leader and thinker; highly skilled in planning, delegating and problem solving
  • You are energized by developing team members to perform their best
  • You have tested experience using data and analytics to manage and continually improve processes and decision making
  • You are no stranger to the Series B Startup world; you’ve achieved success at these company stages and have the learnings to back it up
  • You thrive in fast-moving environments, and have a strong track record of adapting to change and leading others through ambiguity
  • You believe in D&I not just as a program, but as a business imperative; you’ve driven D&I initiatives with measurable results in talent acquisition 
  • You have a bachelor’s degree (an HR certification is a definite plus)


About the Role

  • Recruit top talent while driving the talent acquisition process, leveraging internal and external resources
  • Develop and oversee a talent acquisition marketing strategy that consistently generates a pipeline of of qualified candidates
  • Ensure that the infrastructure of talent acquisition is in alignment with LeagueApps’ business direction - i.e. job descriptions, postings, compensation benchmarks
  • Manage the ATS (Greenhouse), ensuring data integrity and optimization
  • Partner with hiring managers across teams on end-to-end recruiting, including reference and background checks
  • Use data and analytics to continually improve the process and raise the bar for talent
  • Lead the annual strategic plan for Talent Acquisition with innovation and superior leadership
  • Develop OKRs and KPIs for Talent Acquisition; striving for outperformance against metrics
  • Operate as a clear and credible leader in the hiring of a diverse workforce
  • Role model LeagueApps’ SPORTSDOG values and place them at the forefront of talent acquisition practices

Location

We are located right off of Union Square across from the famous Irving Plaza. Currently, we are working fully remotely.
