THE ROLE

We are looking for a dynamic leader who knows how to build, organize, motivate and develop teams. Our Head of People Operations will ensure that Mack Weldon is a top choice for prospective talent and offers world class career development for team members. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of People Operations will be responsible for defining and developing employee programs across human resources, learning and development, talent acquisition, and culture. You will partner closely with the Leadership team to ensure we are creating a vibrant and highly engaged workplace for our 35 (and growing!) employees. You will be joining Mack Weldon at a key time in our growth with the opportunity to craft the people operations strategy near term - while playing a lead role in building the foundation for our next phase of growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Strategy: Define and execute the company’s people operations strategy ensuring that it aligns with our values, mission, and long-term strategic objectives
  • Human Resources: Serve as an independent and trustworthy resource for employees at every level of the company; drive HR initiatives (performance reviews, compliance updates, and mandatory training) and maintain/evolve HR infrastructure (policies, processes, systems); ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to personnel matters
  • Learning & Development: Implement new learning and development programs that provide managers / employees with the necessary tools to maximize effectiveness and professional development; counsel and coach the leadership team to ensure that we build a dynamic and diverse organization
  • Talent Acquisition: Lead a data-driven approach to talent acquisition to ensure we are identifying, hiring, and retaining the best possible talent; ensure candidates have a great experience regardless of the process outcome; enhance our onboarding process to make sure candidates have a positive start to their career at Mack Weldon
  • Office & Culture: Evolve company values from the “walls to halls” by ensuring that values are incorporated into all hiring, retention, performance reviews, meetings, and employee interactions; develop a consistent events schedule aimed at driving team cohesion; lead charity and volunteer initiatives; develop and implement a diversity and inclusion program
  • Finance & Operations: Partner with Finance & Operations to administer and evolve employee compensation and benefits, organizational design, and operational planning 
  • Management: Directly manage our existing Talent Acquisition Lead and Office Manager; build the People Operations org to align with the needs of our growing company

WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

  • 8-10 years of experience working at both strategic and executional levels of People Operations
  • Extensive knowledge of HR regulations, best practices, and procedures
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and exposure to high-growth, fast-paced, and collaborative environments
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with experience building rapport and trust quickly across departments and levels
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change and manage across an organization, including at the Leadership level
  • Experience coaching managers and leadership teams a plus
  • Ability to execute in a fast-paced, startup environment with tight deadlines, changing demands, and cross-functional dependencies
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
