Numeral is building the automation backbone for internet commerce — starting with the painful world of sales tax compliance. We handle everything from registration to remittance, delivering a white-glove service so e-commerce businesses can stay laser-focused on what they do best: growing their products, customers, and teams.
We’re one of the fastest-growing companies from Y Combinator’s W23 batch, backed by top-tier investors including Benchmark Capital. Our team has deep roots from the early days at Stripe, Airbnb, Notion, and other breakout companies — and now we’re bringing that same level of craft, speed, and ambition to a space that’s long overdue for reinvention.
Numeral is small but mighty. Growth is already borderline unmanageable — which means every hire we make now will directly shape the trajectory of the company. If you’re excited about joining as an early team member and want the kind of ownership that defines careers, we want to meet you.
MissionRunning an online business today means wearing a thousand hats — most of them not the reason founders started their company. Our mission is to eliminate the administrative and accounting burdens that distract businesses from doing what they love.
We’ve already helped hundreds of merchants avoid the headache of building giant finance teams just to manage tax compliance. Tomorrow, we’re scaling that impact even further: building the automation layer that lets internet businesses stay nimble, compliant, and future-proof.
About the RoleWe’re looking for an Implementation Manager to be the face of Numeral for our newest clients. You will guide founders and finance teams from "signed contract" to "fully compliant and live." This role sits at the intersection of project management, technical troubleshooting, and high-touch customer advocacy.
You’ll be joining at a hyper-growth stage where "standard operating procedure" is still being written. You won't just follow a playbook; you’ll help us rewrite it to be faster, leaner, and more automated. If you love the puzzle of complex data and the "win" of a successful launch, this is for you.
ResponsibilitiesOwn the Launch: Lead the end-to-end onboarding journey for a high-volume book of business, ensuring every merchant hits their "Go-Live" date with 100% accuracy.
Be the Expert: Act as a trusted advisor for clients, guiding them through tax registrations, data transfers, and platform configuration.
Drive Velocity: Obsess over "Time-to-Value." Identify bottlenecks in our process and work cross-functionally to remove them.
Bridge the Gap: Translate complex customer needs into actionable feedback for our Product and Engineering teams.
Build the Engine: Create the documentation, help center articles, and internal playbooks that allow us to scale without losing our "white-glove" touch.
Technical Troubleshooting: Dig into data imports and integration settings to ensure our customers' financial data is flowing perfectly.
2+ years of experience in Implementation, Onboarding, Customer Success, or Operations. Startup experience is a massive plus.
High Operational Rigor: You are a project management pro. You don't let balls drop, and you thrive when juggling 20+ active implementations.
Technical Empathy: You can explain complex logic (like tax nexus or API integrations) to a non-technical founder with ease.
Bias for Action: When you see a broken process, you fix it. You don't wait for permission to make things better.
The "Craft" Mindset: You care about the details. In tax compliance, "almost right" is wrong.
Familiarity with SQL, advanced Excel/Sheets, or data migration workflows.
Experience in Fintech, SaaS, or E-commerce ecosystems.
Experience using AI tools (LLMs/Prompts) to automate manual parts of your workflow.
You’ve been an early employee at a fast-growing company and know how to thrive in "organized chaos."
Career Trajectory: Join a Benchmark-backed team where your work directly impacts the company's valuation and growth.
High-Caliber Peers: Work with alumni from Stripe, Airbnb, and Notion who value high-craft execution.
Ownership: We don't micromanage. We give you a goal and the autonomy to figure out the best way to get there.
Remote-First Culture: We value output over "hours in a seat," with strong mentorship and growth opportunities.
