About the role

April is seeking an IT Specialist who will play a key role in supporting and maintaining the internal systems that keep our team productive and secure. In this role, you’ll manage day-to-day IT operation from user access and device management to troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. You’ll be a go-to resource for on-demand support, ensuring smooth onboarding experiences, accurate documentation, and clear communication across the organization.

This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to april’s technical foundation by supporting reliable, well-documented, and user-friendly IT systems. Team members residing within the New York City metropolitan area must maintain a minimum on-site presence of three days per week. This is a temporary, full-time role running from December 2026 to May 2027 with potential to convert to FTE. Key responsibilities

  • Provide help desk support for US-based employees

  • Own onboarding and offboarding for US-based employees, including equipment procurement, desk setup, and user provisioning

  • Administer user access and devices across our identity provider, SSO, and MDM platform in a macOS environment

  • Assist with security operations, including first-line EDR alert triage and evidence collection for SOC 1/2 compliance

  • Maintain clear documentation for systems and processes

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in IT roles

  • • Hands-on experience administering macOS devices through an MDM platform

  • Experience with identity providers and SSO (e.g., Google Workspace, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or similar)

  • Experience setting up and supporting video conferencing and meeting-room systems

  • Ability to work independently across time zones and prioritize effectively

Bonus points!

  • CompTIA A+ or Network+, or Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)

  • Scripting experience in Bash or Python for automating routine tasks

  • Experience with EDR platforms or compliance automation tools

  • Practical networking experience configuring and troubleshooting switches, access points, and firewalls, with working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs
