AI is part of how we work:
Human judgment, expertise, and creativity remain essential and are amplified by AI. We expect everyone in this role to use AI thoughtfully and proactively to accelerate their performance, improve the quality of their work, and explore new possibilities. We are looking for people who are curious, adaptable, and excited to help shape an AI-enabled culture that delivers better outcomes for our customers and our company.

Job brief:

We are seeking a Lead of Data Instrumentation & Growth Measurement to serve as the connective tissue between Product (Web, iOS, Android) and Marketing (Lifecycle, Performance Marketing). In this role, you will eliminate data disparity, establish a unified enterprise event taxonomy, manage Server-Driven UI (SDUI) dynamic tracking schemes, and lead incrementality testing to ensure marketing spend is optimized.
You will also oversee performance marketing capabilities, configuring Server-Side Tagging (CAPI), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and a targeted GA4 conversion infrastructure. You will partner with product managers, developers, and specialized agency partners to overhaul our Amplitude environment and build transparent attribution pipelines.

The impact you'll make:

  • Cross-Platform Instrumentation & Governance: Establish and enforce a unified event data dictionary across iOS, Android, and Web. Normalize properties, event names, and units (e.g., standardizing timestamps universally to UTC milliseconds). Partner with Product PMs and developers to review pull requests and audit release builds.
  • Amplitude Remediation & Advanced GA4 Architecture: Collaborate with specialized analytics agency partners to overhaul our Amplitude tracking, fixing data gaps, misfires, and schema issues. Architect a highly custom, targeted GA4 conversion tracking model designed specifically to isolate key conversion events, passing data through BigQuery to AWS Redshift to bypass unnecessary cost while maintaining structural complexity.
  • Incrementality Testing & Spend Optimization: Lead our incrementality and holdout testing strategy across paid channels (Google, Meta, Apple Search Ads). Leverage verified conversion events to measure true media lift and guide marketing budget optimization.
  • Ad Tech, CAPI & Server-Side Tagging: Architect and deploy Server-Side Google Tag Manager (sGTM) and Meta/Ad Platform CAPIs to ensure resilient, privacy-forward conversion signals.
  • Server-Driven UI (SDUI) Dynamic Tracking: Design JSON schemas that allow event capture logic, payload definitions, and tracking rules to be dynamically updated or toggled via backend responses without requiring app store updates.
  • Data Observability & Auditing: Set up automated CI/CD linting rules, schema registries, and daily auditing scripts in Redshift/BigQuery to detect broken schemas, unmapped parameters, or missing properties in real time.

What you've accomplished:

  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in data tracking governance, analytics strategy, technical product management, digital ad ops, or growth measurement.
  • Incrementality & Attribution: Proven track record designing and executing incrementality tests, geo-lift experiments, or holdout tests to measure paid media effectiveness.
  • Ad Tech & CAPI Depth: Hands-on expertise with Server-Side GTM, Meta CAPI, Google Ads, and Apple Search Ads signal configuration.
  • Analytics Platforms: Advanced experience with Amplitude optimization, GTM container architecture, and complex, custom GA4/Firebase deployments.
  • Agency Partner Management: Experience guiding external implementation agency partners (specializing in Google Marketing Platform, Amplitude, and ad-tech integration) to deliver technical roadmaps.
  • Cross-Platform Data Capture: Experience managing mobile app instrumentation nuances (iOS vs. Android unit differences, background session logic, schema registries).
  • Technical Rigor: Strong SQL capabilities (Redshift, BigQuery) for testing payload integrity and JSON Schema knowledge for SDUI tracking setup.

Base Salary: $140,000 - $175,000

The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
