As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platform  Network Services team, you will play a critical role in building, and optimizing the infrastructure platforms that support our global operations. You will drive technical strategy, mentor fellow engineers, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver highly available, secure, and performant systems. The Connectivity Implementation Engineer will be responsible for leading delivery of network and connectivity services, globally. This role partners with internal business stakeholders, service delivery teams and external telecom providers to ensure high-quality, timely, and cost-effective deployment of network solutions that meet business requirements and engineering standards.

Job responsibilities

  • Orchestrate post-order carrier milestones across the delivery lifecycle; track progress, identify risks, and drive mitigation to keep delivery predictable.
  • Coordinate install and cutover execution, including site/provider scheduling, internal handoffs, maintenance windows, and execution readiness.
  • Plan and execute testing aligned to agreed acceptance criteria; capture and manage test evidence and implementation exceptions through to resolution or documented acceptance.
  • Complete BAU handover with closure evidence and required metadata; ensure documentation quality supports operational readiness and auditability.
  • Execute decommission/disconnect activities where in scope, with appropriate governance and closure evidence.
  • Partner with the Demand Managers for customer-facing status communications, providing accurate milestone updates, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with telecom providers, vendors, and internal engineering teams end-to-end – from design through acceptance testing and BAU handover – driving performance against SLAs.
  • Manage change control inputs, cost governance inputs, and documentation hygiene across connectivity implementations.
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Proven implementation delivery / service delivery experience,  within a global financial or regulated enterprise environment.
  • Deep knowledge of networking and telecommunications technologies (Layers 0–3), including dark fiber, DWDM, Ethernet, IP-VPN, DIA, broadband, cellular, and satellite connectivity.
  • Experience coordinating delivery with telecom service providers and managed service providers, including contract and SLA oversight.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across business and technical domains.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent implementations across geographies.
  • Working familiarity with cloud connectivity and hybrid architectures (e.g., public cloud on-ramps, private connectivity patterns) and how they impact implementation planning and testing.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) for workflow, documentation, reporting, and closure evidence management.
  • Familiarity with cloud connectivity and hybrid architectures.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator).
  • Data analytical skills – ability to interrogate, model, and visualize delivery datasets to identify trends, cost drivers, and delivery risks.
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation to streamline service delivery workflows.
