Job Summary & Responsibilities

Company Overview

Raymour & Flanigan is the largest furniture and mattress retailer in the northeastern United States and the seventh largest nationwide. Family-owned and led for nearly 80 years, we help people come home to comfort with more than 5,000 dedicated employees working across our showrooms, outlet stores, clearance centers, and distribution network throughout the Northeast.

Position Overview

The Lead Multimedia Designer is a highly experienced, visually driven storyteller responsible for shaping and elevating how the Raymour & Flanigan brand comes to life through motion, video, editing, and multimedia experiences.

This role combines strong conceptual thinking with deep hands-on expertise. From fast-moving social content and product storytelling to polished commercial work and major brand campaigns, the Lead Multimedia Designer will help define how our brand moves, sounds, and connects with audiences.

This is a senior, hands-on creative role with significant ownership. You’ll contribute ideas early in the creative process, lead high-visibility multimedia projects from concept through final delivery, and help continually raise the quality of our creative work.

What You’ll Do

Motion Leadership & Creative Development

  • Concept, develop, and execute engaging multimedia content across social, digital, commercial, product, and brand channels.
  • Create social-first video, product sizzle reels, promotional content, commercial spots, motion graphics, campaign assets, and other multimedia experiences.
  • Translate marketing strategies and creative briefs into visually distinctive concepts and compelling stories.
  • Lead high-visibility multimedia projects from early concepting through final execution, bringing a strong creative point of view and helping shape the work from the start.
  • Edit and shape footage through pacing, music, sound, typography, graphics, transitions, animation, and visual effects.
  • Understand how storytelling should adapt across platforms, from short-form social content to longer-form product and commercial work.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, copywriters, photographers, videographers, producers, Social, Brand, Marketing, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Maintain a high standard of craft, storytelling, brand consistency, and technical execution while balancing multiple projects and timelines.
  • Explore emerging technologies, AI tools, production techniques, and workflows that can elevate creative quality and improve how the team works.
  • Help establish multimedia standards, workflows, and best practices that enable the team to create stronger work more efficiently.
  • Serve as a trusted creative voice within Marketing, proactively bringing forward ideas and helping evolve our multimedia capabilities.

What We’re Looking For

  • An exceptional portfolio or reel demonstrating strong visual storytelling across motion, video, social content, product storytelling, commercial work, and/or brand campaigns.
  • Advanced expertise in motion graphics, video editing, composition, typography, pacing, music, sound, and visual storytelling.
  • Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to generate original ideas, not simply execute an established direction.
  • A sophisticated eye for design, photography, cinematography, composition, and visual trends.
  • Deep understanding of social and digital content and how creative should adapt across platforms, formats, and audiences.
  • Ability to take projects from initial concept through polished final execution with a high level of creative independence.
  • Strong creative judgment, attention to detail, and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Collaborative and receptive to feedback while confident enough to bring a strong point of view to the work.
  • Ability and desire to mentor developing creatives and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm around emerging technology, AI, and evolving approaches to multimedia production.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experience in multimedia design, motion design, video editing, advertising, content creation, or a related creative field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, with strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience creating brand campaigns, commercial content, social-first creative, and product storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of music, sound design, animation, typography, compositing, editing, and visual effects.
  • Experience providing creative direction, mentorship, or guidance to other designers or editors.
  • Experience with emerging AI-powered creative tools and incorporating new technologies into creative workflows.
  • Experience with 3D, Cinema 4D, Blender, or other animation and visualization tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Film, Animation, Visual Communications, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
