The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting within OptumRx Mail Service/Digital Pharmacies. The role will be heavily partnered with team members, leadership, and other functional partners throughout the organization.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • This role manages key accounting functions, including monthly pre-close and close processes, revenue and COGS recognition, inventory costing, Intercompany transactions, and other Gross Margin reporting
  • The position also provides leadership and development for a team of direct reports
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practices
  • Develop and maintain internal control structure, risk assessment and procedures for financial reporting
  • Resolve high level financial reporting issues
  • Assists in the monthly review of financial results; providing direction to peers and team members
  • Monthly analysis of P&L with variance commentary
  • Develop and process journal entries; revenue/expense accruals and activity
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supports Acquisition Cost Plus Client reconciliation and reporting
  • Assist in development and documentation of processing efficiencies
  • Support various projects as needed

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or equivalent field
  • 5+ years of relevant and progressive financial analysis and solid analytic experience
  • Experience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities and achieving solutions under deadlines
  • Intermediate level of working knowledge of GAAP; ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and senior management to drive sound business decisions
  • Proven intermediate level of proficiency with Excel
  • Proven excellent written and oral communication skills; solid executive presence

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supervisory experience
  • Hyperion Essbase, Oracleand PeopleSoft experience
  • PowerBI experience
  • Advanced excel and database management

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
