About the job
We’re looking for a Business Operations Manager to join our team in NY, reporting to the Director of Business Operations. The ideal candidate for this position has a track record of supporting efficiency in a complex, fast-growing organization through analysis and thoughtful change management. As a Business Operations Manager you’ll be a part of solutions that serve everyone at Spruce: implementing new tools and platforms; keeping key projects on track; and aligning work to our biggest goals. You’ll research and listen, to deeply understand the needs of our departments then make recommendations of tools, workflow, and KPIs to help everyone work efficiently.
What you'll do
- Partner with department leaders to manage, support, and document highly visible initiatives to increase efficiency -- for example: implementing a new software tool or vendor
- Discover new and overlooked solutions to our biggest problems and help implement local change that will support our success in all departments
- Embed with cross-functional teams that are taking on our most impactful initiatives -- you’ll be the project manager and a key blind-spot checker while also doing what’s needed to get the job done
- Transform broad or ambiguous problems into a plan of action and a path forward
- Build trusting relationships across the business

- Successful experience improving efficiency of a fast growing and complex organization
- Comfort with ambiguity and a rapidly shifting business landscape
- Strong generalist with successful experience in a variety of business environments
- Comfort and experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis-- you know what’s needed to make a good decision
- Excellent communication skills in a diverse and distributed environment
