The Amplify Business Operations team is looking for an experienced Director, Operations Reporting. This role is responsible for overseeing the development of reports required to support the Operations team. This role will supervise a team of report developers, ensuring that reporting solutions are deployed to drive efficiencies and data accuracy. The Director, Operations Reporting will use Tableau, gSheets and other reporting tools to ensure successful fulfillment of business reporting requirements by either directly developing solutions or partnering with technical implementers. This role works closely and collaboratively with multi-functional teams (product, customer operations, partner success) to define scope, document requirements, create mock ups and develop reports on time and on budget to support strategic business goals.
Responsibilities of the Director, Operations Reporting:

  • Manage a team of report developers to successfully deliver against business requirements
  • Coordinate, organize, and prioritize multiple projects in a fast paced environment to deliver dashboards and reports to support business needs
  • Gain deep expertise of data within the data warehouse as well as key systems such as NetSuite and Salesforce
  • Collaborate with Key Partners, Subject Matter Experts, Technical Resources and Developers to define requirements and scope, and complete project work within deadlines
  • Translate business needs into reporting requirements, identifying technology gaps and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Develop solutions or partner with technical implementers to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Track and communicate project status, issues, risks and decisions to senior management in an Agile, change-laden environment
  • Stay up to date and quickly obtain proficiency in new technologies and tools, as needed, to meet business needs


Basic Requirements of the Director, Operations Reporting:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing teams of up to 5 people
  • 5+ years experience developing with technologies and tools such as; Google Sheets (auto populate dynamically from multiple data sources, develop advance formulates, Google App Scripts for spreadsheet automation), Gsuite, Zapier and/or Integromat, FTP, Tableau
  • Solid understanding of database architecture and proficient in writing SQL queries
  • Proficient in building reports and dashboards using Tableau and/or Looker
  • Familiarity with data structures and reporting: Salesforce and/or NetSuite
  • Proficiency in writing SOQL a plus
  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages. examples: javascript, php, python


Preferred Qualifications of the Director, Operations Reporting:

  • Experience working in the education technology field
  • Experience leading software development or process improvement projects
  • Certification in a related process (PMP, Lean Sigma Six, Agile Scrum-master) a plus
