About the job


SprucePowered is our managed services offering. Think of it as a B2B white-label version of our title & closing solution, where we enable our partners to run their own public-facing title agency while we compliantly power the core operations and technology behind the scenes.

 

As General Manager, SprucePowered, you are responsible for the growth, ongoing success, and daily execution of the business unit end-to-end. The role is multi-dimensional and requires an entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability and desire to own everything from client relationships to pricing and the strategic vision for the business - plus all things in between. Your leadership will steer this relatively new offering beyond our initial product-market fit explorations into a robust business-line that will contribute as a key driver of growth and expansion for Spruce.

 

You’d likely enjoy this role if you seek constant variety in your day-to-day and excel at shaping ambiguity into action. You’d likely do well in this role if you’re inquisitive and curious, ingesting many dynamic data-points as you work to arrive at your conclusions; while also collaborative and measured, taking your teammates and their perspectives into account along the journey towards deliberate decisions. Your strength is driving tangible results independently, but not doing so alone.

What you'll do

  • Strategy: plan and architect the business roadmap for the SprucePowered offering and the business unit as a whole, with thoughtful foresight into what will continue to drive growth and success for Spruce as well as for our clients
  • Sales and Business Development: lead the growth effort for SprucePowered by owning prospect conversations and ushering them down the sales journey as the subject matter expert and strongest evangelist of SprucePowered; consistently identify and pursue opportunities for expansion - through additional clients, growth within existing accounts, and other creative paths or partnerships that you will craft
  • Product Marketing and Development: empathize with market and customer perspectives to shape compelling value propositions for the product, identifying core industry differentiators and segmenting those narratives against ideal partner profiles that you create and define
  • Operations: with the support of our real estate operations team, define and oversee the executional workflows for our clients - steering the product’s service delivery design, with an eye toward standardization, scalability, and efficiency
  • Performance Analysis: from financial analysis that evaluates and optimizes the pricing strategy for the product, to operational analysis that always keeps an eye on our service performance, and general data analysis to feel the pulse of your business unit across all areas - you are the owner and translator of all metrics that define SprucePowered internally and externally

What we're looking for

  • Examples of ownership and agency on assignments and projects that began shapeless and ambiguous, with anecdotes of the choices you made to navigate the unknown and deliver impactful outcomes
  • Honed problem-solving skills that employ both creative and analytical tactics, with a keen ability to formulate solutions that deliver purposeful business value
  • Range in appreciation for and grasp of both the technical and non-technical aspects of complex processes, with an ability to extract and/or apply key concepts that will drive change and impact
  • Self-propelling motivation that persistently drives a desire to manage and execute projects and tasks from initiation to completion, with a self-imposed commitment to exceeding goals
  • Empathy for diverse viewpoints and a respect for competing desires amongst a wide range of collaborators, with a high level of tact in driving outcomes that prioritize collective goals
  • Someone who is innately ambitious and thinks in novel ways, someone who can balance proactive strategy-setting for the important big picture alongside reactive instincts to efficiently tackle the small yet urgent things that constantly arise, and most critically someone who believes in a relentless focus on the user experience - always striving to deliver value for both our partners as well as their end customers
