The Logistics and Customs Manager is responsible for both strategic and tactical execution of the logistics & customs needs for the Latch hardware supply chain. As a key contributor on the Latch Global Supply Chain team, the Logistics & Customs Manager will coordinate with Latch manufacturing partners, and Supply Chain team to ensure cost effective, customs compliant, on-time deliveries from multiple regions and countries to Latch warehouses and customers around the world.

The Logistics and Customs Manager directs, manages and maintains overall customs compliance procedures to ensure Latch operates in conformity with various rules and regulations. This person will be responsible for measuring corporate compliance ratings and achieving a high overall compliance rate.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage relationships with all Logistics Vendors and Customs brokers
  • Develop and implement logistics solutions to ensure logistics is a competitive advantage for Latch
  • Source, qualify, and conduct ongoing performance management of domestic and international logistics partners
  • Negotiate and manage shipping rates, surcharges, and service standards
  • Coordinate all inbound and outbound, domestic and international shipments
  • Manage the KPI of Logistics Service Providers and Customs Brokers
  • Develop and implement logistics solutions to ensure delivery targets are fulfilled
  • Ensuring processes and metrics are aligned to scale quickly and smoothly
  • Supporting Latch expansion into new markets
  • Improve carrier performance, business process and transportation costs
  • Develop and implement better processes on keeping customers informed on delivery status
  • Maintaining the delicate balance in compliance, cost and speed for our shipments
  • Ensure that Latch is in compliance with US Customs
  • Foster an environment of data driven decision making

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, or other related discipline
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in commercial transportation, warehousing, and/or other logistics operations
  • Experience in customs compliance, including harmonized codes and ECCN classification, licensing, duties, tariffs, agency jurisdiction, and record-keeping
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a constantly changing, fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative and qualitative skills and implementation of effective logistics metrics and objectives
