What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Partner Development Manager to own and grow priority payment method partnerships, with a focus on strategic wallets, buy now, pay later (BNPL) providers, and related payment partners. You will manage day-to-day partner relationships and distribution initiatives, lead defined commercial and product initiatives, and work across Stripe to increase payment method adoption and deliver better experiences for users.

This role requires sound commercial judgment, a structured approach to execution, and the ability to bring together internal and external stakeholders with different priorities. You will develop deep expertise in your partners and the payment method ecosystem, using that context to identify opportunities, inform Stripe’s decisions, and execute initiatives that support Stripe’s product and business goals.

You will:

  • Manage one or more priority payment method partnerships, with a focus on driving joint initiatives and launching new offerings that benefit Stripe users.
  • Manage go-to-market strategy and enablement for defined payment method partners, products, and/or geographies, creating and executing plans that increase distribution and adoption across Stripe’s user base.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders with varying priorities, driving alignment on shared goals. Ensure methodical partner and deal management rooted in clear milestones, performance metrics, and mutual opportunities.
  • Use industry and partner knowledge to inform partnership and product plans, and execute agreements and initiatives that support Stripe’s established strategy.
  • Gather input from and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Risk, Legal, Product, and Engineering, to execute partner initiatives and related product plans.
  • Work with Sales, Product Sales, Marketing, and Product Marketing to create enablement resources and drive initiatives that increase payment method adoption within Stripe’s user base.
  • Identify partner stakeholders who can champion Stripe, educate them on Stripe’s value proposition, and build alignment between Stripe and partner teams.
  • Bring an operationally focused mindset to relationship management by setting clear goals, running tight processes, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve execution.
We’re looking for someone who has
  • 8+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, go-to-market growth, corporate development, payments, or a related field.
  • Experience owning partner relationships, channel or distribution initiatives, and/or cross-functional commercial programs from planning through execution.
  • Experience leading commercial discussions or negotiations using established deal strategies and frameworks, with sound judgment about trade-offs and when to escalate.
  • Experience working in a product-centric environment with meaningful internal and external dependencies. Experience with payments, payment methods, wallets, BNPL, or financial services is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and operational skills, including the ability to define goals and metrics, manage multiple workstreams, maintain tight processes, and use performance insights to improve execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence internal and external stakeholders across a broad range of functions.
  • High agency and comfort operating in ambiguity, paired with the judgment to seek input, build alignment, and escalate when appropriate.
