Own the product roadmap alongside the CEO for a consumer social prediction platform. Define product processes, write specifications, manage the core activation and retention loop, establish metrics, conduct cohort reviews, and lead FanDuel API integration work. The role requires shipping consumer social or mobile products, understanding network effects, and operating independently as an early or sole product manager in a fast-paced startup.

  • Reports to: CEO

  • Compensation: Base salary range is $170K - $220K (depending on experience) + equity

The Company

Rounder is an early-stage startup, venture-backed social platform for the betting generation. You join your friends on the app and create bets, talk trash, and settle scores, from betting on the Oscars and the Super Bowl to who Ella will bring as a date to the party on Saturday. We cover sports, pop culture, and everyday life, and you can form private groups. You earn your bragging rights and banter on any prediction.

The role

The Product Manager position at Rounder will own the roadmap with the CEO. There is no product org to slot into. You will define how product gets done here: how we decide what to build, how we write it down, how we ship it, and how we know it worked.

The product problem is unusually interesting. We are building one prediction primitive that will serve both ends of a spectrum: "Who wins the Super Bowl?" (seeded from a data feed, scored against real odds, resolving itself seconds after the final whistle) to "Who will Jonathan pick as his best man? " (three friends, fuzzy resolution criteria, settled by argument). Most of the hard calls in the next year sit in that tension: scoring and reputation, resolution and trust, what the shareable receipt looks like, how a group chat forms and stays alive.

What you will own

  • The roadmap — We have a rough plan through 2027 (data model, official sports tier, scoring and reputation, open-ended UGC). You take it over, pressure-test it, and own what ships and when.

  • Specs and decisions — Turn open questions into written decisions and tight specs that a small engineering team and a designer can build without you in the room.

  • The core loop — Install to first pick with friends in under a minute, a group attached in the first session, a reason to come back within 24 hours. You own activation and retention of the loop end to end.

  • Measurement — Define and instrument the metrics that tell us the loop is working (pick-through on seeded events, groups formed, Day 1/Day 7/Day 30, questions resolved within 48 hours) and run the cohort reviews.

  • Partner product work — FanDuel's integration milestones (event catalog, odds, settlement data) run through product. You will scope and sequence what we build against their API, and what we want them to put on their own roadmap.

What we are looking for

  • 4 - 8 years of experience in product management, not including internships.

  • 2+ years of experience in social media or consumer apps.

  • You have shipped a consumer social or consumer mobile product that real people used, ideally with a messaging, group, or feed component. You understand why network density drives retention.

  • You have been the only PM, or the first, somewhere and liked it. You can write a spec, run a standup, read a dashboard, interview a user, and sketch a flow in the same day.

  • You enjoy working with engineers and designers. Clear, fast, low ego, and you earn trust by being right often and admitting it quickly when you are not.

  • You care about pop culture, sports, entertainment, or the kind of arguments friend groups have. You will be a heavy user of the product you are building.

Nice to have

  • Prior work on social apps, games, fantasy sports, or entertainment prediction markets.

  • Early-stage startup experience through a public launch at seed, Series A, or Series B.

Rounder is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate candidates based on their ability to do the work and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
