About Ramp

Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.

The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.

We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.

The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.

If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.

About the Role

Ramp’s Sales organization is looking for self-motivated teammates who are excited to learn the craft of outbound selling and help accelerate our growth. As an SMB Sales Development Representative, you will be an early point of contact for prospective customers by researching, engaging, and qualifying finance leaders at growing businesses.

This is a foundational sales role for early-career talent. You will build prospecting, discovery, messaging, and account-prioritization skills through structured training, coaching, feedback, and repetition.

What You’ll Do
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound qualification and outbound outreach.

  • Research companies, prioritize accounts, and identify the right prospects to contact.

  • Build thoughtful phone, email, and multi-channel campaigns that create relevant conversations with finance leaders.

  • Qualify prospects through consultative discovery and uncover business challenges before positioning Ramp.

  • Clearly explain how Ramp can help finance teams simplify spend management, reduce manual work, and gain visibility and control.

  • Maintain accurate prospect and activity data in Salesforce and other sales tools.

  • Use AI and other tools thoughtfully to improve research, personalization, and workflow efficiency; validate outputs before using them.

  • Use coaching, data, and feedback to improve performance and contribute qualified pipeline.

What You’ll Need
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

  • Curiosity about business challenges and how finance teams operate.

  • Comfort in a fast-paced, high-volume environment that includes repetition, feedback, and rejection.

  • A builder mindset: you spot friction, create simple improvements, learn from results, and adapt quickly.

  • Demonstrated coachability and willingness to ask for help, practice, and improve.

  • Practical AI fluency and sound judgment when using tools to improve work quality and speed.

  • A genuine interest in beginning a sales career and building foundational outbound skills.

Nice to Haves
  • Customer-facing, sales, fundraising, service, or leadership experience.

  • Experience working toward goals, metrics, or performance targets.

  • Familiarity with CRM, outreach, or productivity tools.

  • Exposure to a high-growth or ambiguous environment.

  • Interest in finance operations, spend management, or B2B technology.
