Senior Account Executive, Technology
5W is hiring a Senior Account Executive for our Technology practice. We're looking for someone with agency experience supporting tech clients: a strong pitcher and writer who knows how to turn a client announcement into real coverage, and who can manage multiple accounts at once.
You'll work directly with clients every day, lead media outreach across your portfolio, and help shape the strategy behind it. It's a role with real ownership and room to grow, and it rewards people who take initiative.
What You'll DoMedia Relations & Storytelling
- Craft compelling media materials from the ground up: press kits, press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, bios, case studies, and backgrounders
- Develop proactive, creative pitch angles rooted in each client's industry, current trends, and news moments
- Drive consistent, high-impact media results across your portfolio of clients
- Build and nurture genuine relationships with influential tech journalists, editors, and industry voices to secure standout placements
- Monitor the media landscape and identify speaking opportunities that position clients as experts in their field
Strategy & Client Leadership
- Contribute to strategic communication plans, including media opportunities, tactics, and timelines
- Serve as a daily point of contact for clients, updating, reporting, and advising on media relations
- Bring sharp strategic and creative thinking to brainstorms that shape client programs
- Provide strong guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Take on additional research, projects, and opportunities as they arise
- 3–5 years of PR experience, with time spent supporting technology clients in an agency setting
- A strong network of tech media contacts and a demonstrated ability to land coverage
- Excellent writing, pitching, and presentation skills
- Superior account and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing deadlines
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine curiosity about the tech industry
