About the Role

As a Senior Account Manager, you are a trusted client partner and project leader responsible for driving complex, integrated work from brief through delivery. You bring structure and momentum to projects, translating client objectives into actionable plans, mobilizing cross-functional teams, and ensuring work delivers against both client expectations and agency standards.

You serve as a partner to overall Account Leadership, developing a strong understanding of the client’s business while taking significant ownership of how individual projects and programs come to life. You anticipate needs, navigate complexity, and connect the right internal and external resources to deliver high-quality work on time, on budget, and with impact.


Responsibilities

Project & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead assigned projects from brief through final delivery, ensuring client objectives, agency expectations, timelines, and budgets remain aligned throughout.
  • Translate client briefs and strategic direction into clear project plans, defining workstreams, milestones, responsibilities, and key decision points.
  • Build and lead cross-functional project teams across Strategy, Creative, Production, Experiential, Social, and other disciplines, creating clarity around roles and driving accountability.
  • Maintain visibility across the full project lifecycle, connecting individual workstreams and anticipating dependencies that could impact delivery.
  • Delegate effectively across project teams while maintaining ownership of the overall quality and progress of the work.
  • Identify project challenges early, develop solutions, and escalate thoughtfully when broader leadership input or decisions are required.
  • Seamlessly step into new or evolving assignments, quickly understanding the brief, client context, and work required to move the project forward.

Client Partnership & Strategic Contribution

  • Serve as a primary client contact across assigned projects, developing trusted relationships through strong communication, responsiveness, and follow-through.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the client’s business, objectives, competitive landscape, and partnership portfolio to inform how projects are approached and delivered.
  • Translate client needs and feedback into clear direction for internal teams, reading beyond the immediate ask to anticipate needs and potential challenges.
  • Contribute strategic and creative thinking to client recommendations, connecting project execution to broader brand, partnership, and business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the work, deepen client relationships, and create incremental value for the client and agency.

Partner & Industry Management

  • Manage and steward external partner relationships across teams, leagues, talent, properties, agencies, and vendors, ensuring negotiated rights and deliverables are effectively brought to life.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to maximize partnership value and improve how assets are activated through individual projects and programs.
  • Build and maintain industry knowledge, relationships, and resources that can be leveraged to strengthen the work and solve project needs.
  • Maintain a pulse on developments across sports, entertainment, music, technology, lifestyle, and culture that can inform stronger client solutions.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Develop scopes, staffing approaches, budgets, and project plans in partnership with Account and Operational Leadership, balancing creative ambition with financial and executional realities.
  • Maintain strong visibility into project financials, including agency time, hard costs, burn, forecasting, and reconciliation.
  • Proactively manage scope and identify changes, risks, or budget pressures early, recommending solutions that protect both client objectives and agency profitability.
  • Partner closely with Production and other executional leads to ensure project plans reflect production realities and teams are set up for successful delivery.
  • Consistently use agency tools, processes, and reporting practices to maintain visibility and accountability across assigned work.

Team & Leadership Development

  • Manage and mentor Account Managers and Coordinators, providing clear direction, delegation, coaching, and feedback.
  • Create an environment where junior team members can take meaningful ownership while receiving the guidance needed to grow.
  • Reinforce strong project management practices, integrated ways of working, and high standards for client service and work quality.
  • Model proactive problem-solving, collaboration, accountability, and composure across project teams.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong project leadership skills with the ability to independently drive complex, integrated assignments from brief through delivery.
  • Ability to quickly organize ambiguity into clear workstreams, priorities, timelines, and actions.
  • Strong understanding of the client’s business and the ability to connect executional decisions to broader strategic objectives.

  • Strong understanding of external partnerships and how to maximize rights, assets, and opportunities for clients.

  • Ability to balance multiple complex projects and priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence teams without needing to directly manage every contributor.
 Minimum Qualifications
  • 6–8+ years of experience in a creative agency, sponsorship marketing, experiential marketing, integrated brand marketing, or related environment.
  • Proven experience independently leading complex projects or integrated campaigns from brief through delivery.
  • Experience managing day-to-day client relationships and translating client needs into actionable project plans.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing scopes, staffing plans, budgets, and project financials.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across creative, strategy, production, experiential, social, or related disciplines.
  • Experience managing external partners such as teams, leagues, talent, properties, agencies, or vendors.
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior team members.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Notion AI, etc.) and an interest in leveraging emerging technologies to improve workflow efficiency and insight generation.

The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 per year. The position is also eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus. 

Please note that compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to local salary transparency laws.

Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
