Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI, INC. seeks Senior Associate, Hedge Fund Index Sales in New York, NY to drive new business growth by identifying, developing, and generating opportunities that expand MSCI’s market presence.

Your Key Responsibilities

Take full ownership of total relationship management across my territory, which includes maintaining high level management engagement and executing strategic planning initiatives. Develop and prioritize comprehensive target account lists and detailed engagement strategies for all assigned accounts. Lead prospect engagement by using strategic outreach methods such as personalized emails, targeted calling, and social media interaction to establish new relationships. Conduct thorough discovery meetings and conversations with potential clients, both virtually and in person, to understand their needs and position MSCI’s value effectively. Collaborate closely with cross functional Go To Market teams—including Marketing, Sales, Client Service, and Product—to support business growth and ensure all client requests are handled appropriately. Gather client feedback and share it with Product Management, Marketing, Sales colleagues, and Research to help shape future enhancements. Maintain accurate records in Salesforce, including all account visits, client conversations, and finalized contracts, ensuring data integrity and visibility across teams.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: analyzing hedge fund investment objectives and strategies including long and short equity, systematic, macro, multi‑asset to recommend appropriate institutional solutions; conducting discovery meetings with prospective hedge fund clients, including needs assessment, solution positioning, and follow-up documentation, creating pitch decks and data-driven commercial presentations using Excel to visualize analysis, data, and product materials; Interpreting and communicating platform offering, quantitative data and equity market trends to hedge fund clients; addressing complex technical questions from clients on index and equity markets; coordinating with internal legal, compliance, research, and operations teams on client inquiries; managing defined hedge fund sales territory and book of business, including building and prioritizing target account lists using quantitative account scoring, wallet analysis, and revenue potential modeling in Excel to execute engagement plans across portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and senior stakeholders; directing sales pipelines including logging activities, tracking opportunities, and maintaining account records using Salesforce CRM, including pipeline forecasting, conversion tracking, and deal velocity monitoring to drive predictable revenue growth; providing market and client insights grounded in hedge fund trading and investment practices for product strategy; collaborating with cross functional commercial teams including marketing, product, client service, and research using Excel to develop client-facing materials and internal reporting to support client onboarding, deal execution, and post sale account expansion initiatives. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site.
