What is the opportunity?

This is a full time position.

Are you a talented Engineer looking to join a growing team? Dispel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team of roughly ~25 engineers.

You will have the opportunity to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members to deliver high-quality solutions. We strive to maintain a professional and creative work environment where your contributions will be valued and recognized.

We are a 100% fully remote company (U.S. only). You are welcome to use our office in Brooklyn, New York City.

Salary

Salary is dependent on the location you reside in.

Requirements
Stack includes

Python, fastAPI, TypeScript, Node, NextJS, tRPC, ExpressJS, NX, GitHub, Jest, Vitest, Playwright, PostgreSQL, Redis, Queues and Workers, Zitadel, Zanzibar (FGA), Sentry, AWS, React

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Must have been deeply involved with several APIs.
  • Must have Python experience.
  • Must have good understanding of Databases, Caches, Queues, Events, Lambdas and Workers.
  • Understanding of cloud and how the code written will run is required.
  • Skilled in Unit testing and E2E testing.
  • Must be located in the US.
  • Fast learner. Degrees and certificates aren’t a determining factor for us. Rather, we value your ability to care about your work and learn fast.
  • Communication and team culture are very important at Dispel. You’ll be joining a collaborative team where new ideas and contributions are encouraged. These criteria are soft, but just relax and be genuine.
  • Comfortable working within a visual design systems.

  • Strong SQL / DB knowledge.
  • Experience working with feature flags.
  • Release experience.
  • Networking knowledge.
