Each year, 1 in 20 people in the U.S. experiences a medical diagnostic or compliance-related mistake. Most providers lack the time, staffing, and tools to mitigate these issues - so they go unnoticed, impacting care quality and increasing clinical and financial risk.
Brellium is building the AI-powered platform that helps providers deliver safer, more consistent care by mitigating risk early and aligning patient visits with clinical best practices. Our goal is to give every provider in the U.S. the tools to deliver clinically excellent, data-driven care - at scale.
Brellium was founded in 2021. Since then, we’ve grown to serve over 250,000 providers across all 50 states who use Brellium to take better care of their patients and ensure data-driven, compliant care. THE ROLE

We're hiring a Senior Backend / Infrastructure Engineer to design the systems that let Brellium scale 10x. We currently process ~100k sessions per day – and we're building toward 1 million+. That requires robust distributed systems, resilient pipelines, and infrastructure that doesn't break under load. You'll architect and build the backend systems that ensure reliability, observability, and performance as volume increases by an order of magnitude.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design and evolve distributed systems to support 10x growth in session volume

• Improve throughput, fault tolerance, and system resilience across the core pipeline

• Build scalable data pipelines and processing infrastructure

• Strengthen observability, monitoring, and incident response

• Reduce operational bottlenecks and technical debt

• Collaborate with AI and product teams to ensure the underlying systems can support new capabilities at scale

YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU

• Have scaled systems handling high throughput or real-time processing

• Are comfortable with distributed architectures and failure modes

• Think in terms of system design, not just features

• Have strong backend fundamentals: databases, queues, concurrency, APIs

• Care deeply about reliability and performance under load

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a backend/infrastructure focus

• Expertise in Python and AWS infrastructure.

• Experience building and scaling data-intensive applications and pipelines

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and database internals

• Proven track record of improving system reliability and performance in production

Compensation: $190,000 – $260,000
