The Role

As Senior Director of Agency Sales at adMarketplace, you'll be responsible for building and leading our Agency Sales function, with a focus on developing strategic partnerships across major holding companies and independent agencies. This is a true builder role, you’ll translate adMarketplace’s broader commercial strategy into a focused agency sales motion, build and develop the team, and create the relationships needed to drive long-term revenue growth.

You’ll work directly with senior agency leaders and adMarketplace executives to identify new opportunities, navigate complex organizations, and develop meaningful partnerships. Success in this role requires deep agency relationships, a proven ability to build high-performing sales teams, and a willingness to be hands-on in generating revenue as the function scales. This role offers an uncapped commission plan, providing meaningful earning potential tied to the revenue growth you help build and drive.

What You’ll Do
  • Build adMarketplace’s Agency Sales function, including establishing the sales motion, account approach, and team structure.

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of agency sellers as the function grows.

  • Develop and execute a cohesive strategy for building relationships and driving revenue across major holding companies and independent agencies.

  • Establish trusted relationships with senior agency and holding company leaders to expand adMarketplace’s presence and unlock new opportunities.

  • Leverage your network and sales experience to personally open doors, develop strategic opportunities, and help drive new revenue.

  • Establish account strategies and relationship maps across holding companies, agencies, and key decision-makers.

  • Coach sellers throughout the sales cycle, providing hands-on guidance around prospecting, relationship development, deal strategy, negotiation, and close.

  • Lead strategic partnership conversations with agency leadership and identify opportunities for broader, long-term relationships.

  • Establish the sales processes, expectations, and best practices needed to build a scalable and high-performing agency sales organization.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Advertiser Sales, Marketing, Ad Success, Product, and executive leadership to align strategy and accelerate growth.

  • Represent adMarketplace at industry events, conferences, and executive agency engagements to build relationships and strengthen our presence in the market.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in agency sales, digital media, AdTech, or performance media, including significant experience building and leading sales teams.

  • Proven track record of building or scaling an agency sales function, including hiring, developing, and leading high-performing sellers.

  • Deep understanding of major holding company structures, agency buying dynamics, and the stakeholders who influence media investment.

  • Established network of senior relationships across major holding companies and operating agencies.

  • Demonstrated success developing and executing sales strategies that have resulted in meaningful revenue growth.

  • Proven ability to secure multi-million-dollar, long-term partnerships and navigate complex agency organizations.

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with a demonstrated ability to translate successful sales behaviors into team performance.

  • Exceptional sales, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to influence senior and executive-level decision-makers.

  • Strategic, consultative, and analytical approach with the ability to connect agency and advertiser objectives to differentiated media solutions.

  • Entrepreneurial and hands-on, with the ability to execute against broader commercial priorities while personally opening doors and advancing opportunities.

  • Highly motivated and accountable, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Compensation: $220,000 - $250,000 + Commission & Equity

*This range represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of adMarketplace in the New York office. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience; training; associated responsibilities; and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
