The Platforms and Capabilities team within Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) is responsible for building and implementing leading-edge platforms and solutions for risk management. Our vision is to “provide best-in-class Platforms and Capabilities that enable the risk management framework in GRC and across the Company and empower colleagues to excel at risk management activities.”
We are seeking a Sr. Product Manager to be a part of this important evolution of the next-generation Risk Management and analytics products. In particular, this person will work on the ‘Integrated Risk Management’ suite of products. The Sr. Product Manager will provide day to day strategic support and function as the primary point of contact leading the vision and strategy of technology products and platforms for the GRC organization. Particular focus would be on new product development, risk management initiatives, process control and improvement and end user experience. This is a highly visible and strategic position within the company.
As Sr. Product Manager, you will define the user experience, direct one or more scrum teams and other delivery stakeholders to develop solutions. You will prioritize your backlog, gather and define user requirements, and interface with business partners in order to help Amex achieve aggressive business goals while providing innovative, best-in-class solution enhancements for our business stakeholders. You understand agile development processes and lean startup methods. You are someone with a good mix of product and tech skill, a deep appreciation for user-centered design and development, and a fascination for technology innovation. You have an aptitude for risk management techniques and affinity for data and analytics. You are not afraid of pushing boundaries to achieve the best outcomes for Amex.
Responsibilities- Develop and drive product roadmap and define timelines for future features and capabilities while applying new trends and competitive best practices.
- Build, prioritize, and sequence the feature backlog according to defined metrics including business value, return on investment, and job size.
- Actively collaborate with risk managers, Sr. Product Managers, engineers and other relevant partners in delivery execution.
- Identify use cases, define business processes, and craft end-to-end user flows.
- Breakdown sophisticated business requirements into actionable product features and technology user stories.
- Develop and implement Test and Learn plan to support ongoing iteration of customer experience and product feature set.
- Conduct driven assessments and develop product recommendations based on analysis.
- Support development of appropriate tracking and reporting to resolve product performance.
- 7+ Years Experience in Product Management
- Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Technology or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency of user experience, design, and architecture – You easily recognize aesthetic and functional details and can make pragmatic decisions about what details are important.
- Proven ability to build collaborative, trusting cross-functional relationships across diverse set of stakeholders including software developers and engineers.
- Possess Agile/Scrum methodology and rally/Jira/ Confluence proficiency.
- Good balance of technical knowledge and eye for business with a proven track record of driving digital innovation and business metrics with a customer-first mentality.
- Experience in risk management subject areas.
- Strong strategic problem solver with the ability to prioritize tasks and drive results across various initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills.
- Experience with RSA Archer / Service Now IRM (Preferred)
