Exciting Opportunities at MSK: Senior Project Manager (Internal Consultant)– Transformation Office (TMO) 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's Transformation Management Office (TMO). The TMO provides direction, oversight, and coordination of enterprise transformation initiatives that advance MSK's strategic priorities and operational excellence.

In this role, you will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that span departments and enterprise functions, partnering closely with executive leadership, operational leaders, and project collaborators to drive successful outcomes. You will serve as a trusted advisor and project leader, applying advanced project management and change management practices to accelerate transformation efforts across the organization. 

Role Overview: 

• Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of complex transformational initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and strategic priorities and when the path is not already defined. 

• Partner with executive and operational leaders to define project vision, scope, objectives, success metrics, dependencies, risks, and resource requirements 

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, roadmaps, governance structures, timelines, and tracking mechanisms to drive accountability and execution 

• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, barriers, and issues while developing strategies to maintain momentum and achieve project goals 

• Facilitate executive steering committees, governance meetings, working sessions, and stakeholder discussions to support decision-making and alignment 

• Drive stakeholder engagement and influence across multiple levels of the organization, fostering collaboration and accountability among diverse teams 

• Lead the development and delivery of executive-level project reporting, presentations, business cases, and recommendations for senior leadership 

• Support organizational change management activities, including communication planning, stakeholder engagement, adoption strategies, and transition to future-state workflows 

• Mentor and provide guidance to project managers and team members, promoting project management best practices and continuous improvement 

• Contribute to the ongoing development and maturation of TMO methodologies, standards, tools, and governance processes 

Key Qualifications: 

•  7+ years of progressively responsible project/program management, transformation, or consulting experience 

• Demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives with significant organizational impact 

• Experience partnering with senior leaders and executive stakeholders to drive strategic priorities and organizational change 

• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches 

• Experience leading change management, process improvement, and transformation initiatives 

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, competing demands, and complex stakeholder environments 

• Experience developing executive communications, strategic presentations, and decision-support materials 

• PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus

• Change Management & Change Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead complex organizational change, assess stakeholder and operational impacts, build alignment and sponsorship, address resistance, and drive adoption of new processes, capabilities, and ways of working to ensure sustainable transformation outcomes 

• Organizational savvy: Demonstrated ability to understand organizational dynamics, build relationships across functions, navigate competing perspectives, and create alignment in complex environments. 

• Portfolio and enterprise perspective: Ability to look beyond an individual initiative to understand broader organizational priorities, interdependencies, resource constraints, and enterprise impact. 

• Data-driven decision making: Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to assess performance, identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and inform recommendations. 

• Coaching and informal leadership: Ability to lead and develop cross-functional project teams, establish clear roles and accountability, coach less-experienced PMs, and model strong project leadership practices. 

Additional Information 

• Schedule:  9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday 

• Location: Hybrid; 1x a week on site with additional flexibility as needed; 633 Third Avenue, New York, NY 

• Reporting To: Director, Enterprise Project Management
