About the company

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join a small engineering group building AI agent systems that write and run code reliably in production. The work spans backend services, memory and learning components, user-facing AI interactions and administrative controls, with a high degree of ownership from day one.

What you'll do

- Build learning and memory components that let an AI agent adapt to each user's context and data.

- Design and implement AI agents that write, run, debug and test code, and that recover gracefully from failures.

- Shape how users interact with AI and how their feedback is captured and used.

- Develop administrative control layers for managing applications, workflows, secrets and policies.

- Solve problems where AI, security and distributed systems meet, at large scale.

- Experience shipping AI agent systems or LLM-powered applications to production.

- Strong backend engineering and database design skills.

- High agency and the ability to drive projects end-to-end without close direction.

- Based in New York City or willing to relocate immediately.

- Willingness to work in the office 5 days per week with demanding hours.

Bonus points

- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in computer science, AI/ML or distributed systems.

- Time spent at a fast-scaling startup or a company that builds core infrastructure.

- Background in security, sandboxing or code isolation systems.

- Hands-on familiarity with tooling for coordinating language models and autonomous agents.

- Strong grounding in how to assess and compare model quality against speed and cost.
