The person in the Sr. Engineering Manager, Artificial Intelligence role will provide leadership for GPE’s AI direction and execution across the engineering enterprise, working closely with Customer Service & Engineering ITRs, System Design & Technology teams, Product Management, Digital Technology, and GE Vernova Advanced Research. Through this role, we will strengthen our understanding of physics and optimization, elevate design and validation capability, improve the quality and productivity of our technical teams and ITRs, and advance the integration of tools, processes, and data across the business.Job Description
What you'll do:
- Understand business needs and state-of-the-art machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost — in that order — across GPE’s engineering and product landscape.
- Work with Gas Power Engineering, Gas Power Product Management, Gas Power Digital Technology, and GE Vernova Advanced Research to advance and evolve GPE’s ML/AI strategy and implement it across the engineering teams in a prioritized manner.
- Translate GPE-level priorities into team-level action through a disciplined, collaborative deployment model that enables teams to adopt and execute AI capabilities across the organization.
- Unlock both design capability and efficiencies in how we work across Customer Service & Engineering ITRs, System Design & Technology teams, and related workflows, while identifying new opportunities and spaces in this evolving field.
- Lead and align key GPE AI scope areas, including APOW, Lean + AI, AI for Design, and IP Risk & Security / Responsible AI, ensuring they are executed in a coordinated way that improves engineering productivity, strengthens design and validation capability, and embeds responsible, secure, and reliable use of AI.
- Apply Lean + AI thinking, with a Plan, Do, Check, Act mindset, to identify waste, improve standard work, and drive continuous improvement across engineering processes, transformation efforts, and kaizen activities.
- Own technical requirements and key performance indicators for AI initiatives to enable timely problem solving, delivery of agreed outcomes, and measurable business impact.
- Create processes and standard work aligned with the GE Vernova AI Foundry related to compliance and regulations.
- Lead and develop a team of engineers and data scientists to architect, nurture, and implement AI-enabled capabilities and supporting technologies across GPE.
- Support the broader GPE transformation portfolio, including the “Big Swings” across the organization.
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within engineering, digital technology or other technical environment.

- Strong team-building and problem-solving abilities with a track record of driving alignment across engineering, product, digital, and research partners.

- Effective oral and written communication skills, with the presence to influence across all levels of the organization.
- Experience working in a global environment and the ability to operate effectively across functions, regions, and cultures.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a change agent in a complex, diverse, and dynamic cross-functional environment.
- Strong technical, business, and financial analysis skills.
- Familiarity with AI for Design concepts, including AI as Knowledge Partner, AI as Design Accelerator, and AI as Virtual Validation Engine.
- Awareness of responsible AI, including the importance of secure use, governance, reliability, traceability, and bias awareness.
- Relevant examples of demonstrating the GE Vernova Way principles.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $152,400.00 and $254,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
