Job SummaryThe Senior Manager, Commercial Training (Product Training & Field Enablement) will serve as a strategic leader responsible for driving product knowledge, field readiness, and commercial execution across the Biopharma portfolio. This role will lead the development and delivery of product training throughout the full product lifecycle—from pre-launch preparation and launch execution through ongoing product education, lifecycle updates, and new commercial opportunities. The Sr. Manager will ensure commercial teams have the knowledge, resources, and tools needed to confidently and effectively execute against evolving business priorities.
This individual will partner closely with Commercial, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate product strategy and business priorities into clear, actionable field enablement plans. The role will proactively identify emerging opportunities and develop comprehensive training, communication plans, and field briefs that efficiently prepare teams to understand what is changing, why it matters, what they need to know, and how they should execute.
The Sr. Manager will play a critical role in launch readiness and ongoing product excellence, leading the development of product training strategies, learning curricula, field-facing resources, and reinforcement programs that support knowledge retention and consistent execution. This includes establishing scalable training approaches aligned to the needs of different commercial roles and ensuring field teams remain current as products, markets, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and business priorities evolve.
This is a hybrid role, with 3 days a week required in our office located in Lake Zurich, Illinois.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $165,000 per year
Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 14% of the base salary. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities
  • Lead product training strategy across the full product lifecycle, including pre-launch, launch, post-launch, lifecycle updates, new indications, competitive changes, and evolving market dynamics, ensuring field teams maintain the knowledge and capabilities required for effective execution.    
  • Partner strategically with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Operations, and Biopharma leadership to translate product strategies, business priorities, and emerging opportunities into comprehensive field training and enablement plans.    
  • Lead launch readiness and field enablement initiatives by developing training strategies, curricula, communication plans, field briefs, and supporting resources that clearly articulate what is changing, why it matters, and how commercial teams should execute.    
  • Proactively identify and assess field capability and knowledge gaps through business analysis, field insights, stakeholder feedback, performance data, and evolving commercial priorities; translate findings into targeted learning and enablement solutions.    
  • Develop and execute field communication and enablement plans that efficiently prepare commercial teams for new products, business opportunities, market developments, competitive dynamics, and changes in strategy or execution expectations.    
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement by fostering critical thinking, proactive engagement, coaching, knowledge sharing, and the consistent adoption of best practices across the commercial organization.
  • Lead curriculum development and facilitation for national, regional, and other key commercial meetings, ensuring learning experiences are relevant, engaging, strategically aligned, and focused on translating knowledge into field execution.    8. Lead strategic partnerships with external training providers and vendors, including scope development, vendor selection and management, budget oversight, and quality assurance to ensure timely and effective delivery of learning and enablement programs.    
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on product training and field enablement, consulting with Biopharma leadership, global counterparts, and cross-functional stakeholders on business-critical initiatives that enhance launch readiness, workforce capabilities, and commercial execution.

Requirements:

  •  Bachelors Degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical industry, including 2 years in a commercial training or learning and development role, and 2 years in a pharmaceutical sales position.
  • Biosimilar experience preferred.
  • Successful communication with business leaders at all levels to design and develop innovative learning methodologies.
  • Experience leading organizational change initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. Strong business acumen.Understands field perspectives, customer perspectives, and can verbalize those in a way that internal leaders can understand and consider for strategic decisions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends to meet business/customer needs.
  • Ability to travel for meeting engagements e.g. National Sales Meetings, Regional POA Meetings, various training initiatives, etc.
  • Ability to travel domestically to attend meetings/trainings/programs/customer visits (approximately 15-20%) and is based on business need (via public transportation: air/auto); may require overnight travel.
  • The Company’s primary business language is English. The successful candidate must be able to effectively speak, read, write, and understand English to perform the essential functions of the position, including independently understanding policies, procedures, training materials, and workplace communications written in English due to our heavily regulated work environment.
