Summary:

We’re looking for a Staff Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer: a senior individual contributor who leads by example on our largest and most complex US deals. Anaconda is building a vendor-neutral way for enterprises to adopt AI at scale, and recent acquisitions have expanded our capabilities. You’ll own the technical win, show senior technical and business buyers how our products work together, and build the demos, prototypes, and playbooks the rest of the team learns from. This role is for a builder who likes creating solutions from scratch.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead technical evaluations on strategic enterprise opportunities from discovery through close, building credibility with senior buyers across data science, platform engineering, security, and procurement
  • Design and build working prototypes, integrations, and agentic AI demos from scratch to prove out new use cases and demonstrate platform value
  • Partner with sales directors and VPs on deal strategy for multi-stakeholder opportunities, translating technical capabilities into business outcomes and navigating competitive positioning
  • Get expert quickly on newly acquired products and bring the team along, integrating them into a unified story prospects understand
  • Create reusable demo environments, evaluation frameworks, competitive responses, and technical content that other SEs adopt across their deals
  • Build and demonstrate agentic solutions using LLM APIs, coding agents, and similar technologies while explaining governance, cost, and privacy considerations at enterprise scale
  • Spot product gaps, competitive threats, and loss patterns leadership hasn't surfaced yet—then drive them to resolution with product and go-to-market teams
  • Share what's working in deal reviews and joint calls, setting the standard for technical rigor and responsible AI use in customer conversations
Your Impact will be measured through:
  • Technical win rate on strategic and enterprise opportunities you lead
  • Deal size expansion through identifying and proving additional use cases, products, or buyer groups within accounts
  • Sales cycle velocity on complex evaluations with multiple technical and business stakeholders
  • Adoption of your demo assets, evaluation plans, and playbooks across the SE team
  • Product roadmap and go-to-market changes driven by your customer and competitive insights
What You Need:
  • 8+ years in customer-facing technical roles such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting, with significant experience leading enterprise technical evaluations
  • Deep hands-on experience with AI, data science, or data engineering—enough to design solutions, run proofs of concept, and go technical with practitioners and architects
  • Hands-on experience building with agentic AI technologies including coding agents, LLM APIs, or similar frameworks, plus judgment to explain where these fit in enterprise environments
  • Track record winning complex, multi-buyer enterprise deals against competitors as the technical lead
  • Ability to hold the room with executive audiences, translating technical capabilities to business value and handling senior technical and security objections
  • Experience building assets, processes, or standards that other solutions engineers adopted—influencing peers without formal authority
  • Based in the United States with ability to travel as needed for customer meetings and deal engagement
What Will Make You Stand Out:
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of secure governed open-source Python and package management for enterprise, ML orchestration and MLOps, or AI guardrails and security for LLM and agent applications
  • You've sold or architected enterprise software in regulated industries like financial services or public sector
  • You've helped bring acquired or newly launched products to market as a technical lead, building the story and assets from scratch
  • You've worked directly with open-source tools or contributed to open-source communities
  • You've thrived in fast-paced startup environments where you adapted to changing priorities, wore multiple hats, and built solutions without waiting for perfect direction
  • You've worked at an open-source, AI, or data science company and understand the unique technical and cultural dynamics
  • You embody our values: 'Curious by Default', 'Build Together', 'Own It', and 'Lead with Guts and Heart', and our behaviors: Clarity, Care and Candor
  • You care deeply about fostering an environment where people of all backgrounds and experiences can flourish
Why You'll Like Working Here:
  • You'll thrive in a high-performance environment where results are recognized and rewarded
  • Your work directly contributes to shaping the future of data science, machine learning, and AI in the enterprise.
  • You'll work alongside a collaborative team that values diverse, thoughtful discussion, clarity and candor.
  • You'll be supported by a culture that puts employees first - with flexible hours, a fully remote setup, and a genuine commitment to your wellbeing and growth.
