The Corporate Strategy and Development Intern will work closely with the Vice President (SVP) of Corporate Strategy and Development. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to gain exposure to high-level strategic planning, market analysis, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and the development of long-term growth initiatives for a global industry leader. The intern will have the chance to grow their skill set, contribute directly to strategies that influence the broader organization, and learn from a dynamic, fast-paced culture focused on innovation and problem-solving.

This internship is designed to provide practical, hands-on experience in corporate strategy and business development. The ideal candidate will contribute critical thinking, research capabilities, and analytical insights that align with Amentum’s mission to maintain its position as a market leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the SVP and Corporate Strategy & Development team to support the annual strategic planning process, contributing research, data analysis, and insights to help shape the company’s long-term objectives.
  • Assist in the continuous evaluation of market activity, industry trends, and competitor initiatives, leveraging data to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of detailed business analyses, presentations, and briefs for internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, regarding strategic initiatives, market strategies, and M&A opportunities.
  • Participate in identifying and assessing potential acquisition opportunities, including conducting competitive research and market assessments.
  • Help with post-acquisition activities, such as tracking the performance of acquired companies and analyzing integration results to assess their success and alignment with corporate goals.
  • Research and analyze industry trends, emerging markets, customer behavior, and advances in technology to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external consultants as needed to assess the feasibility and alignment of new strategic initiatives with the organization’s mission and objectives.
  • Support internal and external stakeholder engagement by communicating key initiatives, milestones, and outcomes to relevant parties in a well-structured and professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Interest:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline).
  • Demonstrated strong interest or academic exposure to Financial Reports and Statement Modeling, Financial Analysis, or Market Research and Investment Concepts.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint (experience with creating presentations and financial analysis).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, calculate ROI, and present comprehensive business cases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in both individual and team settings.
  • Work Environment:
  • Ability to work remotely and collaborate virtually with diverse teams across different time zones.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings or customer engagements, if needed.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present ideas and data-driven recommendations.

Compensation Details:

$20 - $25 hourly

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
