Provides technical leadership for Java, AWS, and AI-enabled enterprise solutions. Designs scalable applications and cloud-native architectures, guides development teams, supports modernization and migrations, evaluates AI/ML capabilities, and ensures performance, security, reliability, and compliance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, root cause analysis, technical reviews, cross-functional collaboration, mentoring, and advising on architecture, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and DevOps practices.
We are seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep technical expertise in Java, AWS cloud services, and artificial intelligence (AI) to support the design, development, implementation, and optimization of enterprise technology solutions. The SME will provide technical leadership, consult on architecture and best practices, and help guide teams in building scalable, secure, and efficient solutions. This role will also contribute to evaluating and applying AI capabilities to improve business processes, automation, and system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical SME for Java-based applications, AWS cloud environments, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Provide guidance on system architecture, solution design, and implementation best practices.
- Lead technical discussions and advise development teams on complex issues and design decisions.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications and services.
- Architect and support cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS, CloudFormation, IAM, and related tools.
- Evaluate, recommend, and integrate AI/ML tools, frameworks, and services to support business and technical objectives.
- Support modernization efforts, including migration of legacy applications to cloud-based platforms.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, security, reliability, and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, engineers, architects, testers, and stakeholders.
- Review technical documentation, standards, and procedures.
- Mentor team members and share knowledge through coaching, reviews, and training sessions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, particularly in Java, AWS, cloud architecture, and AI.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, with minimum 14 years of experience or 10 years of experience with Master’s degree
- Extensive experience with Java development and object-oriented programming.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud architecture.
- Demonstrated experience with AI/ML concepts, tools, or platforms.
- Experience designing and delivering scalable enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with API development, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud and application development.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Selected candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, RESTful APIs.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with AWS automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks, prompt engineering, or generative AI solutions.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Prior experience serving in a lead or advisory technical role.
