Job Description

Job Summary 

The Digital Strategy Supervisor is a central facet within the Digital Strategy team. Working under the guidance of the VP of Digital Strategy, the Digital Strategy Supervisor constructs the strategic foundation for media plan development and makes sure all tactical plans are grounded in these guiding principles. As a key agency contact, he/she works closely with clients and all internal/external partners, coordinating of parties and ensuring streamlined communication is achieved. The Digital Strategy Supervisor applies his/her knowledge of industry trends and Horizon’s consumer/channel insight resources to offer the clients fresh thinking. He/she supervises all team projects, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time and reflect both practical and strategic thinking. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and partner agencies at appropriate level, by serving as the key agency contact 

  • Build strategic media framework under manager’s guidance, ensuring consistency across all elements of plan development and implementation 

  • Lead research initiatives, identifying digital tools and resources that will aid in the consumer insight gathering and strategic planning process 

  • Share evolving digital media trends and opportunities with peers and clients, ensuring recommendations look to incorporate both existing media as well as emerging channels 

  • Supervise the development of media briefs and the strategic and tactical execution of all media buys, ensuring all strategic direction and timelines are clearly communicated to the inner-agency teams 

  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of account management and buy maintenance 

  • Synchronize all strategy and tactical efforts between Digital and Traditional channels 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • Guide team in setting goals and project tasks & timelines, ensuring team members has challenging, level-appropriate projects and opportunities to learn new skills 

  • Manage performance reviews, coaching to maximize success, identifying training needs for improved performance, setting goals for career development and ensuring actions are taken 

Knowledge and Skills Required 

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience developing strategic media recommendations and stewarding digital media account projects 

  • Primary experience in Digital Media, with high level understanding of planning, buying and activation 

  • Familiarity with marketing principles, analytics and concepts 

  • Passion for technology, with a strong understanding of the inner-workings of Digital platforms 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), digital media research/reporting resources 

  • Prior experience in a Client contact and leadership role 

  • Ability to deliver quality recommendations with confidence in person or over the phone to key clients 

  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience in terms of developing media professionals, with ability to manage a team of 1-2 people 

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to confidently present and “sell through” ideas both internally and to Clients

Salary Range

$85,000.00 - $100,000.00
