Company

Pace helps leading insurers run complex operations through AI agents and expert human review. Financial institutions spend nearly $400 billion annually on outsourced work. We’re building technology to transform those operations alongside some of the largest insurers in the world.

Role

We’re looking for a Talent Engineer to build new ways to find and engage the people who will build Pace.

Your primary focus will be sourcing: identifying exceptional engineers and operators, understanding what motivates them, and earning their interest. You’ll combine thoughtful outreach with creative research, AI, and automation to help us reach people we otherwise wouldn’t find.

You’ll work closely with founders and hiring managers, test new approaches, and turn what works into repeatable sourcing systems.

What this looks like in practice:
  • Discover exceptional people: Map companies, communities, research, and open-source projects to find promising candidates, including those who aren’t actively looking.

  • Create compelling outreach: Understand someone’s work and interests, then give them a specific, credible reason to explore Pace.

  • Engineer sourcing workflows: Use AI, recruiting tools, APIs, and lightweight code to improve research, candidate discovery, outreach preparation, and follow-up.

  • Experiment with new channels: Test referrals, small events, technical communities, and other creative ways to build relationships.

  • Learn from results: Track which approaches lead to qualified conversations and hires. Use feedback from hiring managers to sharpen your judgment.

  • Build reusable systems: Turn successful experiments into tools, talent maps, and processes the team can keep improving.

You’re a great fit if you:
  • Enjoy investigating what people have built and finding talent in unexpected places.

  • Write clearly and personally, and build relationships with curiosity and care.

  • Are comfortable experimenting with AI tools, data, and automation. Software engineering experience is welcome, but isn’t required.

  • Can show something you’ve built or improved in sourcing, recruiting, research, growth, or operations.

  • Follow through consistently and care about the quality of every candidate interaction.

Bonus:
  • Experience sourcing technical talent at an early-stage company.

  • Familiarity with technical communities, open-source ecosystems, or research networks.

  • Examples of tools or automations you’ve built yourself.

Team characteristics

Integrity: We value thoughtful people who earn trust, keep their commitments, and care about the quality of their work.

Ambition: Our goal is a $100bn+ business spanning vertical services. We want teammates who bring equally serious ambitions to their own development, whether as expert practitioners, leaders, or future founders.

Trajectory

You’ll help shape how Pace finds talent from an early stage. Potential paths include becoming an exceptional technical sourcer, owning recruiting systems, or growing into broader recruiting and talent leadership.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity ownership

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Unlimited paid time off
