Capital Preparatory Schools is a charter school management organization operating a network of educational communities.  Our mission is to provide historically disadvantaged students from our community with the college and career readiness skills needed to become responsible and engaged citizens for social justice.  From its inception, the Capital Prep community -our scholars, parents, faculty, and staff - have committed to creating a compelling and meaningful educational experience.  The Capital Preparatory Schools has four schools in five locations: one in Harlem, NY, one in the Bronx, one in New Rochelle, New York, and two locations in Bridgeport, Connecticut providing students in grades K–12 with a year-round, college-preparatory education that encourages students to become scholars and agents of change.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment. 

  • Compile and maintain employee records including confidential and sensitive employee information. 

  • Complete background checks for all employees.

  • Lead open enrollment and oversee benefit packages.

  • Analyzes workforce data, staffing trends, employee relations issues, and organizational needs and develops recommendations supporting district goals and operational effectiveness.

  • Guide instructional staff through the New York State certification process. 

  • Monitors compliance with federal and state employment laws, regulations, reporting requirements, Board policies, and administrative procedures.

  • Assist with the implementation of wellness programs, benefits programs, employee engagement initiatives, and analyzing HR analytics. 

  • Assist with compliance related matters.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Chief Talent Officer.

Skills & Qualifications

  • A graduate of a Bachelor’s degree program (required), with prior experience in a charter school environment (preferred).

  • Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources or Recruitment experience.

  • A highly ethical professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to keep sensitive information confidential.

  • Ability to multitask works collaboratively and maintains focus in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Additionally, CPS offers a comprehensive benefits package. This is a twelve month, full-time, exempt position.


*Weekend or evening work and travel is required.
