What is the Role?

Place Exchange is seeking a Technical Account Director to join our team sitting at the intersection of Partnerships, Sales, Software Development, and Operations. This individual should have a strong background in customer success, product development and technical support using knowledge and deep understanding of the programmatic ecosystem  to help cultivate relationships with our premium DSP partners and  identify growth opportunities that drive incremental revenue and product advancement to our partners. 

As technical account director you’re  a solutions-oriented advisor able to understand and communicate advanced engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders and combine project management, technical knowledge and creative thinking to seize on opportunities to deliver compelling solutions in collaboration with our world-class DSP partners.

This fast-paced, detail-oriented, and varied role is perfect for you to delve deep into the emerging programmatic channel of OOH. You should have outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.  This is a hybrid role requiring two days a week in the NYC office.

Responsibilities

    • Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders across each assigned DSP spanning product, engineering, operational and inventory teams. Use business acumen to understand the clients' needs, to build trust and confidence with clients, and to influence key stakeholders
    • Oversee technical integrations with new clients and manage key technical relationships with existing clients serving as liaison between clients and engineering teams
    • Responsible for guaranteeing the technical aspects of the assigned partner integrations (both new and ongoing) by providing necessary documentation and technical guidance 
    • Manage long-term projects of varying complexity and duration leveraging your knowledge of web languages and standards such as HTML, JSON, VAST, REST APIs to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical clients, plan tasks, set timelines, manage and update stakeholders, resolve blockers and independently drive the process forward.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve client issues quickly and efficiently
    • Develop data-driven analyses and forward-thinking recommendations that align with customer goals and quantify high-impact opportunities with clear recommendations to pitch to customers and internal stakeholders


What you’ll bring:

  • 4+ years of experience in the programmatic media space (buy-side or sell-side)
  • Extensive familiarity with the ad tech ecosystem and key trends
  • Experience working with demand-side platforms (DSP), programmatic trading desks, supply-side platforms (SSP), ad servers, and data management platforms (DMPs). Experience working with web languages/standards such as HTML, JSON, VAST, REST APIs 
  • Effective client-facing leadership skilled in building and nurturing client relationships while also leading an agile team and developing talent
  • Influencing experience working with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize portfolio needs and business goals, impact product roadmap and deliver product solutions. 
  • Strong analytical base with experience with various business intelligence or reporting tools such as Looker/Tableau.  Experience with SQL/Python languages and data visualization development is a major plus. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively present technical products to non-technical customers, and negotiate deals
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail


Compensation:

For those based in New York City, the expected compensation for this role at time of hire is a salary range of $125,000-$135,000, plus bonus (based on level and performance), and stock options.  Exact compensation is determined during our interview process by assessing a candidate’s experience and skills relative to internal peers  as well as market benchmarks evaluated for the scope and responsibilities of the position and the location of the candidate. A candidate’s compensation will be based on the role and level they are hired for, which may be different than the role they applied for.
