About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Managing Director within Global Payments and Liquidity, a part of Enterprise Functions, to lead the Commercial Card Sales, Account Management, and Sales Support organization serving Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and Specialized Industries clients.
This leadership role is responsible for defining and executing the growth strategy for one of the bank's most important payments businesses. The leader will oversee new business development, portfolio growth, client retention, sales enablement, and strategic initiatives that drive revenue, deepen client relationships, and strengthen market position.
The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with operational excellence, bringing a proven ability to develop long-term business strategies while delivering disciplined execution and measurable results. This role requires a leader who can inspire teams, influence senior executives, and drive transformation in a highly competitive payments landscape.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage and develop a Treasury Management Consulting team of individual contributors and mangers in roles with moderate to high complexity and risk
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for process improvement and risk control development in the Treasury Management Consulting functional area
  • Lead the Treasury Management Consulting team by making strategic decisions to meet higher-risk deliverables
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with moderate to higher complexity and risk within scope of responsibility in the Treasury Management Consulting functional area
  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with the function or affected by its outcomes
  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including senior leadership, as well as interact directly with external customers in the Treasury Management Consulting functional area
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in Treasury Management Consulting
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Key Responsibilities:
Business Strategy & Growth
  • Define and execute the Commercial Card growth strategy across CIB and Specialized Industries segments
  • Identify new market opportunities, industry trends, and emerging client needs to drive revenue growth and market share expansion
  • Develop and execute sales, portfolio, and client engagement strategies aligned to enterprise objectives
  • Partner with senior business leaders to shape the future direction of the Commercial Card franchise
Sales & Relationship Leadership
  • Lead a large organization of sales, account management, and sales support professionals
  • Establish a high-performance culture focused on accountability, client outcomes, and sustainable growth
  • Drive acquisition of new clients while expanding relationships with existing strategic customers
  • Ensure rigorous sales pipeline management, forecasting, and performance execution
Client & Market Leadership
  • Serve as a senior executive representative with key clients, prospects, consultants, industry influencers, and strategic partners
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with CFOs, Treasurers, Procurement leaders, and Accounts Payable executives
  • Represent Wells Fargo at industry forums and client events
  • Bring external market intelligence and competitive insights into strategic decision-making
Transformation & Innovation
  • Lead modernization efforts across sales processes, client engagement models, digital capabilities, and operating frameworks
  • Partner with Product Management, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Marketing teams to accelerate innovation and commercialization of new solutions
  • Drive adoption of data, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities to improve client outcomes and organizational effectiveness
  • Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence
Talent & Organizational Leadership
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top-performing leaders and team members
  • Build leadership bench strength and succession plans
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, accountability, and execution excellence
  • Coach and develop leaders to achieve business objectives while strengthening organizational capabilities
Risk Management
  • Ensure adherence to risk, compliance, regulatory, and governance requirements
  • Promote sound risk management practices while balancing client experience and growth objectives
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of Treasury Management Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of leadership experience managing large, complex sales and relationship management organizations
  • Demonstrated success driving significant business growth, revenue expansion, and client acquisition
  • Proven record of developing and executing growth strategies that materially improve revenue, client penetration, and retention
  • Deep expertise in Commercial Card, Payables, Treasury Management, Working Capital, and B2B Payments solutions
  • Experience leading senior sales, account management, and client-facing organizations
  • Experience leading organizations serving large corporate, middle market, and specialized industry clients
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Strong financial acumen and strategic planning capabilities
  • Experience leading large-scale business transformation initiatives
  • Strong industry network and credibility within the payments ecosystem
  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
Job Expectations:
  • This position will require 25% of travel
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
  • This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
