Coordinates care for residents, collaborates with departments, communicates with families, evaluates staff rotation, conducts meetings, and oversees policy implementation.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the care of Residents through collaboration with other departments.
- Communicates with families regarding the Resident's plan of care and any changes in the condition of the Resident.
- Receives and communicates information to the staff and keeps Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing informed of needs and current developments.
- Evaluates rotation of staff and adjusts section assignments as needed.
- Promotes positive public relations for the nursing unit and department.
- Responsible for conducting monthly meetings and educating staff on new policies relating to the nursing department.
- Oversees the implementation of new policies and procedures and periodically reviews current procedures, working in collaboration with the Director of Staff Development as needed.
- Directs volunteers assigned to the unit with the assistance of the Registered Nurse.
Qualifications:
- Current NYS Registered Nurse License
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
- BSN
