About The RoleAs a Valuation Manager at The RealReal, you will own day-to-day appraisals of handbags, servicing clients who visit our retail store through both scheduled appointments and walk-ins. You will authenticate and price luxury handbags across our dynamic acceptance standards, leveraging deep brand, materials, and market knowledge.
As a subject-matter expert, you will educate and build trust with consignors, customers, and peers, translating market insight into a white-glove client experience. You will also support occasional supply events through on-site valuations and participate in remote pricing initiatives to support cross-functional teams across the organization.
We’re seeking a process-driven individual with exceptional attention to detail who is eager to continue honing their expertise in luxury handbags while delivering best-in-class service.

What You Get To Do Every Day
  • Facilitate all valuation appointments, working directly with clients to deliver a relaxed, consultative experience that educates them on the value of their handbags within our marketplace

  • Conduct real-time authentication and valuation of luxury handbags using a wide range of brand- and category-specific tools and resources

  • Provide pre-consignment pricing support to consignors and internal sales partners

  • Maintain a strong understanding of pricing trends and sell-through velocity for handbags by partnering closely with the Pricing and Authentication teams

  • Own the sell-through performance and velocity of items you personally price

  • Own appointment-to-consignment conversion metrics, driving both client satisfaction and business results

  • Partner with the Store Manager to understand customer needs and stay aligned with in-store operations and priorities

  • Support additional store and team needs as required to ensure a seamless retail experience

What You Bring To The RoleMinimum Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of luxury handbags in the primary and/or secondary market, including brand standards, authentication, materials, craftsmanship, and condition assessment

  • 2–5 years of experience in the luxury space within a customer-facing role

  • Flexibility to work select weekend days 

  • Sales experience strongly encouraged

  • Proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to anticipate business needs and meet internal and external deadlines

  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify potential obstacles in advance and ensure smooth execution of valuation office processes

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple complex, time-sensitive situations while remaining calm and composed

  • Passion for delivering a high-touch, luxury client experience every day

  • Polished, professional presence with strong presentation skills

  • Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing

The expected salary range for this role is $82,000.00-$100,000.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
