Position Summary
This Vice President will join a specialized team within Ares Secondaries focused on minority equity investments in alternative asset managers (GP Stakes). The strategy targets long-duration, strategic partnerships with leading sponsors, providing access to management company economics and supporting platform growth. The VP will play a leadership role in sourcing, underwriting, and executing investments, while also contributing to portfolio development and strategic initiatives.

Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities
Lead underwriting and valuation of GP investment opportunities, including development of detailed financial models and scenario analyses
Drive full lifecycle deal execution: due diligence, structuring, documentation, and closing
Prepare and present investment committee materials and recommendations
Source new investment opportunities through sponsor relationships, advisors, and market networks
Oversee junior team members in analysis, modeling, and presentation development
Engage with portfolio companies to support strategic initiatives and monitor performance
Collaborate with internal teams across capital formation, fund development, and portfolio management
Contribute to thought leadership and market positioning of Ares’ GP Stakes strategy
Qualifications
6-8 years of experience in GP Stakes, investment banking, private equity, or secondaries investing
Proven track record in sourcing and executing complex private market investments
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Sophisticated financial modeling and analytical skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with experience preparing IC-level materials
Deep understanding of private markets, asset management businesses, and GP economics
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree is a positive

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
