Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions
Overview:
Based in Purchase, NY, the Vice President of Corporate Development will be part of the Strategy, Corporate Development and will report to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development. The primary responsibility of the Vice President of Corporate Development is the formulation of inorganic growth opportunities and leading the identification, development and execution of strategic opportunities across Mastercard's business related to potential equity investments, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. The role requires a big picture thinker able to fully connect with the payment and technology industry environment and see lateral opportunities across geographies and industries. The candidate should be able to understand and synthesize market and industry insights, identify competitive trends, and partnership opportunities.
Role:• Lead high-priority strategic projects: frame and structure issues, conduct complex analysis, and crystallize insights and recommendations• Generate new growth ideas grounded in market dynamics and competitive context• Partner with business executives to understand business strategy and how M&A and equity investments can accelerate or complement that strategy• Develop Target Investment Profiles (TIPs) with leadership to select top M&A or investment candidates• Market Engagement: Develop and maintain active engagement with relevant market players across the regions among PE / VC investors, investment banks and other sources to ensure full market visibility• Generate Investment Rationales: Partner with global business units, regional product & sales executives to assess which of their growth strategies are potentially better executed via strategic investments and/or acquisitions• Preparing pre-LOI business cases including go-to-market plans for synergies, standalone business valuation and early-stage integration planning• Lead creation of acquisition deliverables and discussions such presentations to senior executives and Board of Directors for LOI approvals• Understand and communicate financial impact and risks of potential acquisitions & investments and recommend remediation actions• Develop talent across the Strategy and Corporate Development team by recruiting, coaching and mentoring junior resources
All About You:• Bachelor's Degree, MBA or CPA preferred• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible• Executive presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior management and business partners• Extensive project management, problem solving and planning skills required• Prior M&A, Corporate Development, or Management Consulting experience • Knowledge of payments, financial services or related areas a plus • Demonstrated executive level relationship building and partnering skills• Strong analytical skills including financial modeling, accounting and valuation experience

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.

Purchase, New York: $230,000 - $368,000 USD
