Job Description:

The Senior Vice President of New Stream Media (NSM) serves as a key architect of dentsu's retail media and commerce growth strategy, responsible for shaping the long-term vision, commercialization approach, and market leadership of NSM offerings. This executive will drive enterprise-wide growth across Retail Media Networks (RMNs), commerce media, and emerging monetization opportunities while influencing strategic investments, partnerships, and capability development across dentsu. 

The SVP will partner closely with executive leadership, including Growth, Media, Product, Technology, Analytics, and Client Leadership teams, to scale NSM's impact across the organization, unlock new revenue streams, and position dentsu as the leading strategic advisor to retailers, marketplaces, and media owners globally. This role requires a proven executive leader capable of driving transformation, influencing senior stakeholders, and delivering sustainable business growth. 

Based on the strategic importance of the role and its expected leadership across NSM growth, commercialization, and enterprise partnerships, this description more closely aligns to an SVP-level position

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Own the NSM roadmap across design, build, and run phases of RMN development.
  • Lead monetization strategy and go-to-market planning, including pricing, packaging, and partner enablement.
  • Expand NSM’s non-endemic advertising footprint and unlock new revenue streams for retailers.
  • Define and drive the multi-year growth strategy and commercialization vision for NSM across dentsu 
  • Serve as an executive advisor to Media leadership on retail media, commerce, data collaboration, and monetization strategy. 

Growth & Innovation

  • Evangelize the NSM offering in dentsu, meet with client leads to proactively solution partnerships and new client endeavors.
  • Drive net-new and organic revenue growth across RMNs and enterprise media.
  • Represent dentsu internally and externally as a recognized thought leader across retail media, commerce, and monetization. 
  • Architect integrated solutions that span media, analytics, creative, and consulting.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Growth Officer to align NSM initiatives with dentsu Media’s enterprise growth priorities.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee delivery models and staffing plans to ensure scalable execution.
  • Partner with finance and commercial teams to shape investment strategies and revenue models.
  • Lead internal enablement efforts, including sales tools, training, and thought leadership.

Client & Market Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and industry partners.
  • Represent NSM in external forums and contribute to dentsu’s thought leadership in retail media.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and retention through strategic oversight and innovation.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in retail media, commerce, digital advertising, consulting, or enterprise growth leadership. 
  • Proven executive leadership experience managing large revenue portfolios and influencing C-suite stakeholders. 
  • Deep understanding of RMNs, commerce media, and enterprise media buying.
  • Strong strategic thinking, solution selling, and storytelling capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
The annual salary range for this position is $171,500 -$250,000. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.

Employees who live within a commutable distance of one of our hub offices, currently located in Chicago, metro Detroit, Los Angeles, and New York City, are required and expected to work from the office three days per week (two days per week for employees based in Los Angeles). Dentsu may designate other Hub offices at any time. Those who live outside a commutable range may be designated as remote, depending on the role and business needs. Regardless of your work location, we expect our employees to be flexible to meet the needs of our Company and clients, which may include attendance in an office.
