ROLE SUMMARY
Pfizer Studio plays a central role in supporting Pfizer's mission to deliver breakthroughs that change patients' lives by producing high-quality video and photography content for colleagues across the organization. The Visual Production Lead is the Studio's subject-matter expert in camera, lighting, and visual design. This role owns the look and feel of Studio content, ensuring consistent, modern, and high-impact visuals across a wide range of formats.
The Visual Production Lead oversees camera and lighting systems, develops lighting setups, manages photography workflows, maintains Studio equipment, and acts as the main camera operator. This position collaborates closely with Producers, Postproduction, and Audio/Tech to ensure seamless production across pre-production, field shoots, and in-studio work.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as lead cinematographer for Studio productions; design lighting plans, select camera configurations, and execute high-quality visuals.
  • Manage Studio cameras, lighting, grip, and photography equipment, ensuring readiness, safety, and maintenance.
  • Understand and uphold Pfizer's brand standards, including framing, exposure, camera profiles, and LUT usage.
  • Lead still photography needs for communications and professional development.
  • Foster and maintain industry connections, building database of trusted contractors.
  • Manage freelance photographers/videographers and ensure consistent quality and file delivery.
  • Operate cameras for interviews, b-roll, live-to-tape sessions, and remote productions as needed.
  • Create and maintain production documents (i.e. camera report) to be used in postproduction workflows.
  • Provide support in media management, basic editing, and pre/post production.
  • Collaborate with Producers to understand creative goals and translate them into visual treatments.
  • Track, maintain, and recommend upgrades for cameras, lenses, lighting kits, and related tools.
  • Ensure safe use of lighting and grip gear in accordance with Pfizer's environment, health and safety requirements.
  • Document technical setups and maintain equipment logs.
  • Stay current with industry technology trends, virtual production approaches, and AI-enabled tools for visual workflows.
  • Provide occasional producing support when needed, especially with remote recording.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of experience in cinematography, videography, or studio/production environments, with a demonstrated portfolio showcasing lighting, framing, and visual storytelling.
  • Deep expertise in camera systems, lenses, exposure, composition, color science, and lighting design.
  • Experience developing lighting plans for interviews, executive communications, b-roll, and multi-camera studio setups.
  • Proficiency in studio and field production environments, including grip equipment, rigs, lighting safety, and camera support systems.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop) for media handling and basic editing needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, repair, and manage camera and lighting equipment, including documentation and asset tracking.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to interpret creative briefs to deliver high-quality visuals aligned with brand standards.
  • Ability to juggle multiple shoots, equipment needs, freelance coordination, and pre-production planning.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools for image enhancement, footage tagging, shot selection, color matching, or lighting simulations.
  • Familiarity with color-managed workflows, LUTs, and matching footage across multiple camera systems.
  • Understanding of photography workflows, lighting for headshots/portraits, and file management best practices.
  • Strong organizational discipline and attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working within pharmaceutical corporate video, branded content, agency, or internal communications settings.
  • Experience directing small crews, photographers, or videographers, including reviewing deliverables for consistency.
  • Experience with virtual production technologies.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Occasional evenings and weekends to accommodate filming schedules.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $82,700.00 to $133,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10.0% of the base salary.
