Job Description:

This role is adjunct to the Sr. Wealth Lending Advisor and is a high touch, point of client and Investment Advisor contact accountable to address the unique and complex needs of securities-based and custom lending High-Net-Worth clients in internal Private Client Wealth (TDPCW) and 3rd Party channels. 
The role partners directly with Sr. Wealth Lending Advisors, Wealth Lending Advisors, RMs, IAs, Wealth Strategists and external Registered Investment Advisors (3rd Party) to facilitate and support new lending business development and loan book growth activities. This role is also responsible for retaining and growing assigned client and advisor relationships and is accountable for ongoing client and 3rd Party partner firm satisfaction.  That includes acting as a central point of contact for any escalation and key account relationship needs to ensure Legendary lending experience, while representing the TD brand in the securities-based lending and custom lending in assigned channels.  

This role focuses on maximizing client's satisfaction with their borrowing relationships, maximizing, and seizing the opportunity to retain and grow balances through day to day loan modification activities, loan structuring discussions such as trusts or asset holdings companies acting as borrowers, pricing exception request submissions where appropriate, daily collateral monitor activities including communications with IAs and clients on any collateral advance rates or shortfalls that require attention, curing margin calls and supporting new client onboarding and loan application fulfilment.  The role also partners closely with Credit Management and Market Risk partners in those capacities.

Depth & Scope:

  • Responsible for supporting 20-40 new securities-based loan originations per month, together with the corresponding client onboarding activities.  Each of these loans frequently include more than one client/borrower with joint applications, trusts and trustees, or asset holding companies with one of more beneficial owners(s) to document and coordinate for due diligence and underwriting submissions
  • Supports the loan modification requests for that book of business.  Responsible for compiling, submitting, and ushering the request through the loan structuring (including pricing), loan underwriting, documentation, loan closing, and booking processes
  • Supports margin call remediation communications and planning with Advisors and Clients. Remediation communications and execution by Advisors and Clients typically include multiple follow ups.  Tracking, managing, and reporting on these follow-ups back to Credit & Risk partners are key requirements of the WLAS
  • Acts as a first point of contact for escalations from the Centralize Servicing Team to ensure client satisfaction and retention
  • May work with less complex clients. May bring in subject matter experts earlier in the client relationship as needed
  • Ensures those existing clients, where it would add value, are provided with additional loan structuring guidance, education on platform capability enhancements, and direction on lending value advance rates for pledged investment accounts
  • Effectively executes a proactive outreach effort across all clients to enhance and expand the overall relationship
  • Executes in a manner that is compliant with regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Adheres to all federal, state, SRO regulations and Firm policies related to all business activities (e.g., OCC, SEC, FINRA etc.). Ensures all Continuing Education requirements are attained
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to TD Wealth AML/ATF Policies and Procedures
  • Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence Requirements as outlined in the Business Unit AML procedures
  • Contributes to a positive and constructive work environment with a focus on supporting the overall Wealth team
  • Contributes individually and as a team member, to ensure strong performance, collaboration and enthusiasm that set TD Bank apart from our competitors
  • Represents TD Bank to the public in a professional manner
  • Is involved in Employee's community and support TDBG charity and community initiatives

Education & Experience:

  • 4-year degree preferred
  • 3+ years related experience required in:
  • A production or client support capacity (i.e., track record of high client satisfaction and retention)
  • Credit or lending support capacity (i.e., growth responsibilities for a loan book of business or loan book quality and performance)
  • Registration Series 7 encouraged but not required
  • Understanding of HNW client needs and products and services available to clients within the segment
  • Consultative sales experience preferred
  • Ability to establish relationships and partner effectively with other departments within TD Wealth and TD Bank U.S.
  • Personalized customer service skills, including ability to work with wide variety of clients and provide an exceptional level of service
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, as well as part of a team - working well with other team members and keeping all relevant individuals, including management, up to date in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Ability to work within a highly collaborative team environment
