Love your job: 7 awesome NYC companies hiring this month

Tired of doing the same old thing in the same old office? New York City is home to some of the world's coolest tech companies, and a lot of them are hiring this summer. Here are 7 tech companies that are spending their summers looking for new talent.

"We're a fast-growing, New York-based cloud infrastructure provider, and our talented team is at the center of everything we do. What they do: DigitalOcean offers super-fast, on-demand SSD cloud servers. 

Location: 101 Avenue of the Americas

Perks: Custom work stations, free meals everyday, flexible vacation time, full health coverage, commuter benefits, 401(k) plan, gym reimbursement and education support. 

 

What they do: Justworks is a HR SaaS solution that helps businesses manage their payroll and employees. The startup also partners directly with providers such as Aetna and MetLife to offer benefits at affordable rates.

Perks: Dog friendly office, unlimited snacks, commuter benefits, discounted gym membership, full health benefits, leadership training and company retreats. 

 

What they do: Shutterstock is a marketplace for commercial photographs, videos and music. If you've ever read a corporate blog post, you've seen an image that came from their site. 

Why you want to work there: Shutterstock takes their work/life balance seriously, and typical working hours for most of their staff are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. They also offer a ton of on-site activities, including a daily lunchtime meditation session, and weekly yoga and fitness classes. They also encourage all their employees to take a vacation, and everyone gets 21 paid vacation days a year. Just to top it off, they also have a fitness and tuition reimbursement program.

What they do: LittleBits operates a platform for small, electronic building blocks that can be used to create all sorts of crazy inventions. 

Why you want to work there: LittleBits' swanky office overlooking the Hudson River is a tinkerer's paradise. It's a fun place too, with dogs and robots roaming around and, from what I've been told, spontaneous sing-alongs occurring from time-to-time.

Why you want to work there: Livestream's offices are in a loft in Bushwick — which is pretty amazing for a tech company. Perks: Life at Betterment is pretty swanky. The company has an executive chef, a fully stocked kitchen and cold brew coffee on tap. They also provide their employees with awesome health insurance, a 401(k) and you get to choose the computer setup of your choice. Oh, and their offices are pretty sweet too. You can work from your desk, the library, the kitchen, the garden, or the lounge. Don’t feel like working? There’s a nap room. 

 

What they do: ShopKeep is updating the cash register, and changing the way independent business owners deal with archaic point-of-sale systems. 

Why you want to work there: They have some pretty sweet perks, including unlimited vacation days, commuter benefits, pet insurance, catered lunches, and a beer fridge, just to name a few.
