Noom, a digital health platform that combines personalized psychology with modern medicine, announced on Tuesday the appointment of its new chief executive officer. Geoff Cook, an entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience in the technology space, will be named CEO at Noom and sit on the company’s board of directors.
Cook will join Noom with extensive experience in leading large scale global teams, building successful brands and advancing enterprise consumer offerings. Cook co-founded The Meet Group, a portfolio of mobile social entertainment apps, in 2005. In his role there as CEO, Cook led the company through more than eight consecutive years of revenue growth as well as the acquisition and integration of four social dating companies.
“Noom is a cutting-edge healthcare company with a laudable vision – to intentionally design technology to foster human flourishing and longevity. The team’s passion and hard work has built a powerful brand for human behavior change,” Cook said in a statement. “Having spent the last 18 years driving innovation to promote social connection and well-being, I’m thrilled to bring that spirit of transformative innovation to additional health and wellness dimensions.”
As part of the planned leadership transition, Saeju Jeong, Noom’s co-founder and CEO of 16 years, will join Noom’s board of directors as the executive chairman.
“I’m so pleased to have Geoff Cook join us as CEO,” Jeong said in a statement. “Geoff is a transformative leader who will lead Noom through the next phase of our evolution. With his lengthy track record building and scaling businesses and revenue streams, I know Geoff is ideally positioned to accelerate Noom’s growth and profitability.”
