The OpportunityAs a Communications Manager, you'll sit on the communications team in a position that spans executive social media and comms. This is a role for someone who doesn't shy away from the hard stuff — someone willing to try new things rather than rely on an old playbook. We're a company in transition, and we're looking for someone who will jump right in and help us navigate through it.
To thrive here, you'll need to know how to break through the noise. You're as comfortable on social media as you are talking to a reporter. You spot trends before they trend, and you know how to make Superhuman part of the conversation. You're the first to know what's happening in the news and among the reporters who cover our space — you follow their writing, know which events and conferences we should attend, and consistently bring creative, new ideas to capture attention. You'll also help our executives shape their point of view and voice across platforms.
In this role, you will:
Lead our executive social media program, advising on strategy, content, and engagement. Maintain a content calendar and pipeline of executive social content. Monitor and measure results, and make adjustments to the strategy as needed. Suggest recommendations on formats and test different ideas. Look for opportunities for executives to join trending conversations and insert their point of view.
Lead product communications across our suite of products — Superhuman Mail, Docs, and Go and Agents — ensuring consistent, compelling narratives that span the full portfolio. Partner closely with product and marketing teams to shape messaging frameworks, align launches with broader company storytelling, and drive awareness of how our products work together to help people do their best work.
Work with our community and customer marketing leads to identify interesting customer stories and determine the best platform to tell those stories.
Manage our speaking and awards program, working closely with our PR agency.
Act as the comms liason with the events team supporting them when needed.
Has 5+ years of experience in communications working in-house and/or an agency.
Experience working in technology with a preference for knowledge in AI.
Must be well-versed in new media and traditional media landscapes.
Proven track record managing executive social media programs, including ghostwriting and building content calendars for C-suite leaders.
Experience owning product launch communications end-to-end, strategy, messaging, spokesperson prep, and execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt voice and tone for different executives and platforms.
Strong media relations skills, existing relationships with tech and business reporters, and a habit of following their coverage closely
Sharp editorial instincts, knows what's newsworthy, spots trends early, and finds creative angles to insert a brand into the conversation
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyzes and executes work efficiently, collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments.
Based in San Francisco or New York with willingness to travel occassionally.
