What you’ll be doing...

As the Competitive Intelligence Senior Manager, you will serve as the definitive expert on the competitive landscape, tracking domestic telecommunications companies including: pricing, promo, and competitive moves to evaluate how Verizon stacks up against the competition.

You will leverage first- and third-party data, partnering with internal teams and external vendors to extract deep, actionable insights. Your analysis will not just report the news—it will shape the future, providing Verizon leadership with the strategic and tactical courses of action required to maintain and expand our market leadership.

  • Competitive Tracking & Benchmarking: Monitor and analyze domestic telecom competitors’ product offerings, pricing, promos, and performance to benchmark Verizon’s relative market position.

  • Strategic Synthesizing: Transform complex, disparate data streams (market share, porting data, pricing shifts, consumer trends) into a cohesive, high-impact narrative for executive leadership.

  • Vendor & Data Management: Direct relationships with external vendors and internal data teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and relevance.

  • Actionable Recommendations: Formulate and pitch clear, data-driven courses of action to senior leaders, directly influencing Verizon’s strategic roadmap, product positioning, and market responses.

  • Cross-Functional Advisory: Act as a trusted, influential partner across the Consumer line of business, ensuring competitive realities are integrated into overarching business decisions.

  • Leveraging AI: Integrate AI into existing workstreams to uncover new insights; leverage AI to create new ways of analyzing data.

What we’re looking for...

You are a naturally curious strategist who loves connecting the dots that others miss. You don't just look at competitor moves in isolation; you understand the macro telecom ecosystem and can anticipate industry shifts. You are an exceptional storyteller who can translate dense technical or financial data into clear, compelling narratives tailored for C-suite presentation. Culturally, you are a bold communicator who is comfortable challenging the status quo with objective data.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Relevant work experience in competitive intelligence, corporate strategy, market research, or strategic analysis within the telecom or technology sectors.

  • Deep domain expertise in the domestic telecommunications industry and/or studying competitive pricing and promotional moves

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • An advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Economics, Business Strategy, or Data Analytics).

  • Proven experience synthesizing first-party internal data with third-party syndicated research

  • Strong analytical acumen with experience utilizing data visualization tools (like Tableau or Qlik) and financial modeling to project competitor trajectories.

  • A proven track record of directly influencing executive or senior-level leadership decisions through formal presentations and strategic briefs.

  • Experience managing complex research budgets and external vendor contracts to maximize ROI.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
