About the company

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the technical rollout of a software platform into customer environments, from initial data access through to validated production workflows. Work closely with customer data and engineering teams to turn business knowledge into reliable data models, spending most of the time on hands-on data work.

What you'll do

- Onboard new customers end to end, including scoping data access and exploring poorly documented data warehouses.

- Map complex, inconsistent schemas onto clear business concepts.

- Interview customer stakeholders, resolve conflicting definitions and encode them as validated SQL queries.

- Deploy platform workflows and automated pipelines into customer environments and monitor their results.

- Manage two to three customer engagements at once, collaborating directly with customer teams in shared chat channels.

- Use internal tooling day to day and give engineering feedback on validation, guardrails and overall tool quality.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.

- Experience leading technical customer implementations, from getting systems connected and understanding data structures to working with client stakeholders and showing results.

- Track record of independently shipping production data pipelines or systems.

- Background as a forward deployed, customer or solutions engineer, an analytics engineer or data scientist in customer-facing delivery, or a consulting professional with strong engineering skills.

- Early-stage startup experience.

- Degree in computer science, data science, statistics or a similar quantitative field.

- Deep SQL and data warehouse skills, including working through undocumented legacy schemas.

- Regular use of AI coding tools and experience building or customizing automated workflows.

- Applied data science literacy, including validation design and recognizing noise in results.

- Ability to defend technical positions with evidence when customers push back.

- Comfort with meticulous, repeated checking of data quality over long stretches.

- Living in the New York City area or ready to move there.
