Founding Product Manager

We’re hiring for a Founding Product Manager — someone to define, design, and deliver the most critical product surfaces at Ekho, spanning high-velocity consumer experiences, complex transactional infrastructure, and the deep operational tools that power nationwide vehicle sales.

Position Overview

You’ll work side-by-side with our CEO and CTO to shape product across nearly every layer of Ekho. One day you’ll be improving the high-sensitivity buyer journey on dealer websites — SRPs, VDPs — the next you’ll be diving into Ekho’s proprietary transaction engine that automates hundreds of compliance-heavy workflows in all 50 states. You’ll also be involved in spec'ing features for dealer and OEM administrative portals, as well as the internal tools our sales processing experts rely on to maintain operational rigor at scale.

This role requires someone who's honed their product skills at a true product-led organization — someone with deep product experience, genuine design instincts, and a strong sense of craft. You must be the type of PM who can move fast, cut through complexity, and make high-quality decisions with incomplete information. You should have an exceptionally strong ROI compass, an ability to simplify the messy, and a track record of building products users genuinely love.

We’re looking for someone who can set the bar for product at Ekho — ideally someone around whom we can build an entire future product organization.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–12 years of product management experience at a product-led, high-growth technology company, ideally with consumer-facing or high-stakes transactional products.

  • Demonstrated ability to ship polished, thoughtful, and scalable products with clear evidence of design taste and product craft.

  • Experience working across multiple product surfaces — from user-facing experiences to internal tooling and admin dashboards — with comfort diving into technical complexity.

  • BS in Computer Science or an equivalent technical background.

  • Extremely 'AI-pilled'. You leverage AI in everything you do to move quicker than the rest.

  • Strong evidence of great product taste, craft, and design sense.

  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces, define structure, and identify first-principles solutions where no playbook exists.

  • Strong analytical instincts, capable of prioritizing ruthlessly and making ROI-driven tradeoffs.

  • Excellent communicator — able to distill complexity, write clearly, and guide stakeholders toward aligned decisions.

  • Collaborative partner to engineering and design, with the ability to generate clarity, momentum, and accountability.

  • Comfortable working at both 30,000 feet and 3 feet — from strategy to API details to usability polish.

  • Evidence of speed: rapid iteration, short feedback loops, and an instinct for shipping value early and often.

  • Experience running user research, synthesizing insights, and turning qualitative and quantitative data into product direction.

  • High ownership mindset — you default to action, embrace responsibility, and thrive in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product development across several of Ekho’s most important surfaces: high-velocity dealer website pages, vehicle detail experiences, and the proprietary transaction layer powering multi-state vehicle sales.

  • Own and evolve complex workflow automation systems that handle financing, documentation, compliance, titling, and other mission-critical processes.

  • Build and refine the administrative portals used by dealers and OEMs, ensuring they are intuitive, powerful, and tightly integrated with Ekho’s end-to-end platform.

  • Oversee internal operational tools used by Ekho’s sales processing experts, optimizing for accuracy, speed, and regulatory compliance across all 50 states.

  • Partner with engineering and design to define requirements, shape solutions, maintain momentum, and drive execution end-to-end.

  • Synthesize customer insights (dealers, OEMs, buyers, internal operations) into clear, actionable product direction.

  • Create structure and clarity in ambiguous areas; define crisp problem statements, success metrics, and roadmaps.

  • Prioritize rigorously using first principles and ROI-driven frameworks; make smart tradeoffs across speed, quality, and complexity.

  • Ship quickly and incrementally, balancing immediate value with long-term architectural soundness.

  • Uphold a high bar for UX quality, product craftsmanship, and thoughtful system design.

  • Work directly with the CEO and CTO to craft long-term product vision, inform strategy, and shape how Ekho’s product organization scales.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building consumer purchase flows, transactional systems, marketplace-style products, or operational tooling.

  • Background working in regulated or high-complexity industries (automotive, fintech, logistics, insurance, mobility, etc.).

  • Familiarity with workflows common in dealership, franchise, or distributed retail environments.

  • Ability to prototype (Figma, low-code tools, or lightweight engineering experience a plus).

  • History of leading cross-functional efforts — research, design, go-to-market — with strong stakeholder management.

  • Evidence of product excellence beyond work: side projects, writing, systems thinking, or examples of craft that demonstrate taste and rigor.

  • Ambition to grow into a senior product leader and eventually build and mentor a broader product team.

Company Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401k

  • Free lunch and dinners

  • Annual team offsite
