NewsNation Senior Producer (New York)

NewsNation is looking for an experienced network-level producer to support the daily production of a new daily cable news program. The senior producer will play a key leadership role helping to devise the editorial and booking strategy and coordinate show production for the daily show. The senior line producer plays a lead role in managing creation of the show's rundown and facilitates the production process from the daily pitch meeting to the execution of the live show in the control room collaborating with editorial and production staff in DC and in NY throughout the day. The position is based at the network's offices in New York.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assists anchor and executive producer in setting show's editorial direction

Helps build rundowns for regular programming as well as breaking news and special programming

Coordinates the team: segment producers, associate producers, editors and other staff

Copy edits scripts and content

Serves as a senior leader in the control room

Helps implement training and best practices for team

Provides ongoing mentoring and support to staff

Manage editorial relationships and collaboration with other teams

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

Ten or more years of editorial experience in a fast-paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable or digital)

Excellent writing and copy-editing skills

Segment producing experience required, line producing experience a plus

Strong organizational, and people skills are vital

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills who brings lots of ideas to the table

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Salary Range: (per experience) $140,000 – $160,000 Annualized.
