Neuberger is seeking a Private Markets Specialist to join its North American Intermediary Sales team in New York. This is a high-visibility, client-facing role that sits at the intersection of private markets expertise and financial advisor engagement. The Specialist will serve as a subject matter authority on Neuberger's registered private equity platform, partnering closely with Client Advisors to drive fundraising, deepen advisor relationships, and expand private markets literacy across the US intermediary channel.

This role is ideal for a motivated investment professional who is equally comfortable in front of clients as they are behind the data — someone who can translate complex private markets concepts into compelling narratives for financial advisors and their clients.

Responsibilities

Sales & Fundraising Support

  • Partner with Client Advisors and the broader Alternatives Specialist team to support registered private equity fundraising across US financial intermediary channels

  • Serve as a key point of contact for financial advisors navigating Neuberger's suite of registered PE products — from initial education through subscription and beyond

  • Drive advisor engagement by delivering high-quality investment content, market commentary, and product updates that reinforce conviction and accelerate the sales cycle

  • Proactively uncover new opportunities and prospective advisor targets through outbound email and phone outreach, building and expanding the pipeline within assigned channels

Client & Advisor Education

  • Educate financial advisors and their end clients on private equity fundamentals — including market dynamics, fund structures, liquidity considerations, and expected investment outcomes

  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations, both in-person and virtually, tailored to advisor sophistication and client profile

  • Host and facilitate group virtual events (Zoom) with advisors and clients to discuss private markets trends and Neuberger's registered PE offerings

Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and research to monitor peer offerings, market positioning, and emerging trends within the registered private markets landscape

  • Leverage competitive insights to inform sales messaging, anticipate advisor objections, and sharpen Neuberger's differentiated value proposition

Internal Coordination & Collaboration

  • Serve as a connector across internal stakeholders — including the Private Markets Investment Team, Sales Management, Client Advisors, and Marketing — to ensure cohesive messaging and seamless execution

  • Partner closely with the Marketing and Investment teams on the development, refinement, and maintenance of sales collateral, ensuring materials are current, accurate, and aligned with the firm's positioning

  • Contribute to the development of sales materials, talking points, and market updates in collaboration with the investment and marketing teams

Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; strong academic record required

  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience in finance, investment management, private equity, investment banking, or a related field

  • Prior experience in a client-facing or sales-adjacent role within alternatives or wealth management strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep understanding of private markets — including private equity structures, fund mechanics, and the registered product landscape (e.g., interval funds, tender offer funds, BDCs)

  • Exceptional communication skills — able to distill complex investment concepts into clear, persuasive narratives for both sophisticated and emerging-private-markets audiences

  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to engage and influence advisor audiences in both one-on-one and group settings

  • Highly organized with strong project management capabilities and meticulous attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Collaborative, team-first orientation with the maturity and judgment to navigate complex internal and external relationships

Licensing

  • Series 7, 63 and 65 — or Series 7 and 66 — required within 90 days of hire
