Our core and supplemental programs in ELA, math, and science engage all students in rigorous learning and inspire them to think deeply, creatively, and for themselves. Our formative assessment products help teachers identify the targeted instruction students need to build a strong foundation in early reading and math. All of our programs provide educators with powerful tools that help them understand and respond to the needs of every student. Today, Amplify serves more than 10 million students in all 50 states. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for prospecting new business using a variety of tools and techniques - including cold calling, social media sleuthing, following up on conference leads, and more. The main objective will be to set appointments and qualify prospects who may be interested in Amplify's programs, but the real measure of success will be in how much revenue pipeline you can generate for the Account Executives.
The right candidate will deploy their critical and strategic thinking skills to source the right prospects and develop a plan to reach them. This is not a typical "smile and dial" role where the BDR receives a list of leads to call and follows a script, though the successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and work at a high velocity to achieve the goals.
"Amplify's COVID-19 vaccination policy requires all staff to provide proof of vaccination for in-person meetings unless an approved exemption is provided."

  • Connect with prospects on phone and video meetings to assess client needs and following the sales process with potential buyers, including demos and presentations.
  • Use tools like Salesforce, Outreach, and 6sense to track and plan sales activities.
  • Work with account executives and regional sales teams to determine strategy.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and share relevant market feedback.
  • Be up-to-date on product and market knowledge.

Basic Requirements:

  • 1-3 years sales experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Knowledge of administration practices, including use of CRM systems
  • Cold calling experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to advance knowledge through self-study, training, and experience
  • Experience collaborating effectively with teams
  • Strong creative-thinking and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, persistent, diligent, reliable, with strong probing skills
  • Proven record of managing high volume of leads with a strong outbound lead management cadence
  • Interest in education
  • Ability to communicate to diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities
  • Interest into building more opportunities for diversity, equity, and inclusion; we are using positive change to impact culture, and we want you to help us, do it!

We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. To that end, we seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool.
